Dragonslayer Posted March 21, 2013 #1 Posted March 21, 2013 After 8 months of daytime TV and looking for a job on the Internet I finally got the job offer call today to start April 1. This will be an administrative job managing local county government facilities. Looks like a great recession proof job with great benefits and all of the government holidays.
Miles Posted March 21, 2013 #3 Posted March 21, 2013 That is GREAT. I wish you 20 years of success...then retire !

dwatson636 Posted March 21, 2013 #17 Posted March 21, 2013 Congratulations, I just went thru a 4 month layoff and just started a new job as well. I know how you feel. I am sooo tired of putting in resumes to companies that don't give a crap or don't want to pay you what your worth.
playboy Posted March 22, 2013 #18 Posted March 22, 2013 Congratulations Driving that desk will probably be more profitable than driving a truck and a lot easier to park.
djh3 Posted March 22, 2013 #21 Posted March 22, 2013 Congrats, so whats your first holiday off? April 1? :rotf:I personnaly would be suspicious of a hire date of Apr 1. But it will look cool in the records.
Dragonslayer Posted March 22, 2013 Author #22 Posted March 22, 2013 Congrats, so whats your first holiday off? April 1? :rotf:I personnaly would be suspicious of a hire date of Apr 1. But it will look cool in the records. The April 1st start date did give me pause for a minute but I didn't think it wise to appear to be too superstitious about starting a new job. But I am I'm not sure if April 1 is actually one of the recognized government Holidays but I do think Arbor day and Ground Hog day are. They haven't given me the Holiday list yet.
Dragonslayer Posted March 22, 2013 Author #23 Posted March 22, 2013 Congratulations from down under Bob Thanks Annie, I was able to verify being able to arrange time off for Vogel during the interview process so we are still go for our lunch date at the Dillard House
Dragonslayer Posted March 22, 2013 Author #24 Posted March 22, 2013 Congratulations Driving that desk will probably be more profitable than driving a truck and a lot easier to park. That's what I figured

I don't think I will have a problem ending the intimate relationship I've had with the remotes and the sofa. I'm really looking forward to becoming a productive member of society once again.
