2WHEELSFORME Posted March 21, 2013 #1 Posted March 21, 2013 I'm going to try a set of the Pirelli MT 66 tires. I've run several set of Mets and Avons and have no complaints with handling or feel I just don't get the mileage I think I should. I wanted to try the Elete 3s but at 73% of the cost I'll try the Pirellis. Mets and Avons were even higher. With both of those haveing problems with spliting and seperating for some users I see no reason to pay the higher price. My pet peave with Avons is the way the tread is on the center of the rear tire, it goes from tread to thread in the blink of an eye. Found the MTs locally for $222 a set plus tax and they will mount off the bike for 25 bucks each. Can't get that mounting price if using the internet. Computer balancing is also a must and not all places use it. Not interested in the magic beads so many use. Hopeing they do not sing, wobble, cup, pull, seperate, bubble, bounce, skid too much or wear out in less than 5 thousand miles.
djh3 Posted March 21, 2013 #2 Posted March 21, 2013 I had a pair on my last bike. 900 Kawasaki Vulcan, granted a lighter bike but I really liked them. I got very good milage out of them over 12k. Let us know what you think after a few thousand miles. I'd be interested to know how they milage out on the heavier bike.
mm482 Posted March 21, 2013 #3 Posted March 21, 2013 I had a set of 66’s on my 07 RSV. The handling was OK, about the same as 404 Dunlop’s. I got about 14K out of the front and only 8K out of the rear. Earl
