I bought a center stand from Ponch last year and it has worked great. Unfortunately the kick stand part bent so now it won't work. I have sent Ponch a couple of messages, but no reply. Anyone have any other ideas about a center stand without having to pay $300 for it? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that he patterned them after the ones that I was making. He had asked me if it was OK. If so, it is just a stand off a first gen. You should be able to pick one up off ebay for less than $20.00. Will be easy to make the few changes to hook it to the special bracket.

I didn't use those parts on the second gen conversion. I usually got those pieces when I bought the used stands and I think I threw them all away a while back. Probably had a hundred of them. I'll look when I get home to see if I still have one laying around somewhere.

No, I removed it when a member had one fail...it bent...and I didn't have any to replace his with. I did use it some but not as much as I thought I would. I planned to build another one but have never gotten around to it.

Ok, I have a center stand and after looking at it was trying to figure out a different way to mount it up, I do miss that from my first gen. I helpped a harley buddy put one on his bike and it was attached to a plate that clamped to the frame with like 3/8 steel. Other projects going but one I want to finish.

Larry,

Let me look when I get home tonight. I bought a 1st Gen center stand to fab a bracket for my 2nd gen. I think it came with the arm and spring. If you need the arm and spring, It's yours for the shipping cost.

If you haven't seen them, here are the instructions and dimensions of the bracket that I was making.

I have seen that, my thought was I could attach it to a plate clamped to the lower frame and leave the holes under the center for my lift adapter. I never looked to see how far back and how it was attached to the first gen. I might need pictures. . .

It is the life arm that is bent. I did bend it back to shape, but the next time I tried to get it under my bike it just bent again. I am sure it was weakend due to the angle when I had a rear blow out on the freeway doing 70. I am sure these things were not designed to lift the bike when the back tire is flat. Lately I have just been going back to the 2x4 under the tire and it works then. Now I just have to figure out why my brand new Avon Venom is leaking air. Spray bottle up! Thanks all.
