Snarley Bill Posted March 17, 2013 #1 Posted March 17, 2013 no time for cabin fever this year. i finally got time to get the bike out and take a short ride friday. just have to many pokers in the fire, and the excitement just was'nt there. this just may be my last year of riding. i would like to find a new hobby. maybe back to trains. i'm in semi retirement now,( just working when i feel like it). i'm thinking about buying old crap and restoring it for resale. any one got any old crap forsale.lol. i've got some bikes for sale. like a 2007 v-star 1300 tourer, and a 1958 cushman pacemaker with modern up grades. will consider old crap in part trade, good crap only. :rotf:this gettin old is for the birds. for you youngsters out there, live life likes theres no tomorrow. retirement ain't all that neat. i was in the fast lane all my life, and have great memories and friends that made it all worthwhile. value the friends you meet on venturerider.org, there just ain't none out there better. i have my eye on a nice caboose to put in my back yard and restore. would you believe linda said it ain't gonna happen. what is she thinking.
b2dad Posted March 17, 2013 #2 Posted March 17, 2013 B2dad and I agree with you...getting old definitely is for the birds. sorry to hear tho that riding doesn't give you the thrills it used to. Have you considered a trike? Seriously, it takes alot of the worry out of riding (just saying...for us OLD folks anyway). As for the caboose...serious? I can't imagine Linda saying no to you..but if she does...you better listen! LOL See you soon!

rosebud Posted March 17, 2013 #4 Posted March 17, 2013 I vote Yes for the caboose! Linda will like it once you have it in your backyard.
DragonRider Posted March 17, 2013 #5 Posted March 17, 2013 Hate to hear you are going to rid yourself of all your bikes, I know they were a labor of love to get them to the point you wanted them and they were awesome. But get a trike, I did and I really enjoy riding it when I do, looking forward to this riding season and retirement, no I am not as old as you, but I am getting there, but I aint giving up anytime soon.:no-no-no:
