CaptainJoe Posted March 13, 2013 #2 Posted March 13, 2013 Lookin Good! Was experienting with the bike a few weeks ago... The stock handlebars are extreemey close to the tank when turned from left to right... how did you over come this? Risers,or,did you move the pods rearward...which is what i was leaning towards.... Inquiring minds want to know...LOL
gmarshall Posted March 13, 2013 #3 Posted March 13, 2013 OOH, I like that:bighug: When are you going to offer it as a kit?
Condor Posted March 13, 2013 #4 Posted March 13, 2013 Finally got my gauge pod installed . Very Nice.... I like the way the finish kinda matches the fins...
plumberman Posted March 13, 2013 Author #5 Posted March 13, 2013 Could not move them back so i added another 3/16" to each side of the steering stop . Will not quite go to steering lock but i have a rotor lock anyway
Miles Posted March 13, 2013 #6 Posted March 13, 2013 Plumberman, if you want to offer that guage kit to others as a sale item, I would stand in line to buy one. That looks good, and on a RSTD, we would not have to worry about the handlebars hitting it, as our bars are wider at the base. I know this is on the RSV, but it should also fit a RSTD, eh ???????
ragtop69gs Posted March 13, 2013 #8 Posted March 13, 2013 I like it !! Nice job If you do offer them up I'd be interested in 2 of them. Otherwise do you have a how to, so we can build it ourself.
plumberman Posted March 13, 2013 Author #9 Posted March 13, 2013 If i had enought interest i would take it to see if i could get it molded . The carbon fiber cost $45 at a local shop and he can dip about any pattern . If not enought interest (pm) me and i have some pictures of the process , pain in the neck . Thanks for your interest
bongobobny Posted March 13, 2013 #10 Posted March 13, 2013 Yes, interested!!!!! Excellent workmanship!!!
Carbon_One Posted March 13, 2013 #11 Posted March 13, 2013 If i had enought interest i would take it to see if i could get it molded . The carbon fiber cost $45 at a local shop and he can dip about any pattern . If not enought interest (pm) me and i have some pictures of the process , pain in the neck . Thanks for your interest Considering the responses thus far you may as well go ahead an check into seeing what it'd cost us for a pod cover. I'd say start at a dozen and work your way up from there as orders came in. To save time and money on your part just offer the cover and let the owners get whatever gauges they prefered. Larry BTW: Great job on your project.
rickardracing Posted March 13, 2013 #12 Posted March 13, 2013 I like the looks. Too late for me because I already cut up my dash for my guages. The only thing I do not like it having to limit your steering. Not a fan of that at all, 3/16" or not. But I really like the carbon fiber look. Very nice job.
Rookie725 Posted March 13, 2013 #13 Posted March 13, 2013 I would be interested also - willing to pony up the $$$ needed to get this off the ground - Looks great. Thanks
dacheedah Posted March 13, 2013 #14 Posted March 13, 2013 I may b in depending on price, add a spot for a few switches, all we ever need
kantornado Posted March 13, 2013 #15 Posted March 13, 2013 Been looking for one 4 quite awhile now. I PMed you and you can put me down for 1. I like the CF looks cool. I will add my own guages (tac & ??) Thanks for putting it together........Ron
plumberman Posted March 13, 2013 Author #16 Posted March 13, 2013 Let me take it to a couple of locals to see how much it would cost to make . Couldn't make any more by hand , took forever to make that one , hoping they can mold it cheap using mine as a pattern , will let you how i make out .
Dave Posted March 13, 2013 #17 Posted March 13, 2013 that looks really good I`m in line as well......to purchase
