86-93 needle jet shim?

every post ive seen so far doesnt have a clear answer, is there a way to heighten the needle since there is only one clip position? Ive completely opened the exhaust and have a k&n so its been a little lean. Any help would be great.

Yes. There is a member here that sells a set for that. I'm on travel today so I can't check who I got them from. Om sure somebody will chime in on who it is .

Not hard to do. Remove the diaphram/slider from the carb, disassemble the needle portion, remove the washer and replace with the thinner washer(s). Re-assemble and re-sync the carbs.

Same principle, but he is wanting to richen it up a little, not lean it. Therefore, he needs to add thicker washers.

Just put the thinner washer under the stock washer resync and you should be good to go.

I ran K&N's in the '83 and it didn't run lean. Ran just fine. Richen up the mix and your MPG will suffer, and that's not something you might want to do with the price of fuel lately...
