Snaggletooth Posted March 11, 2013 #2 Posted March 11, 2013 I got to wonder how hard it would be to convince the LEO's that you don't really need to have those nasty old mirrors on your bike because you have a periscope. Be a fun conversation to listen in on.
Cougar Posted March 11, 2013 Author #3 Posted March 11, 2013 :rotf:Yeah, and don't tilt your head up and down as well. Or what about that afternoon sun behind you
Wade 2000 Posted March 11, 2013 #5 Posted March 11, 2013 It wouldn't do me any good most of the time I would just be looking at the wife. That would be way too distracting
Cougar Posted March 11, 2013 Author #6 Posted March 11, 2013 No No No The Wife wears it.. She sends back the signal to your helmet.. Via Blue-Tooth !! Simple
Wade 2000 Posted March 11, 2013 #7 Posted March 11, 2013 No No No The Wife wears it.. She sends back the signal to your helmet.. Via Blue-Tooth !! Simple Ok but she is never looking straight ahead. It would be better for touring rigs to have a camera mounted to the back of the tour pack that would send an image to the rider.

XV1100SE Posted March 11, 2013 #15 Posted March 11, 2013 Hmmmm.... easy to get a pinhole video camera or small security camera. How about one mounted on your license holder ? Only $19 - [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Koolertron-License-Plate-Backup-Camera/dp/B0049LBJ56/ref=lp_1253823011_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1363039772&sr=1-2]Amazon.com: Koolertron Rear View License Plate Backup CMOS Camera: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41p837fV7EL.@@AMEPARAM@@41p837fV7EL[/ame] (didn't get a very good review - water leaks in) Aluminum at Walmart - $99 - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bravo-View-License-Plate-Back-Up-Camera-PC-3/10105212 So a range in pricing for a back up camera... but next issue is how to display the image.
Cougar Posted March 11, 2013 Author #16 Posted March 11, 2013 Well I do know it is the same 2.4 GHz as a home router. Not sure why they did that. I had to put a toggle switch in place to turn off my monitor SO it is Wireless so all you need then is the 4 inch screen mounted to the handle bars :-)
XV1100SE Posted March 11, 2013 #17 Posted March 11, 2013 ... all you need then is the 4 inch screen mounted to the handle bars :-) Too bad you couldn't route it to the gps. The screen would need to be waterproof.
