dueyk1111 Posted March 10, 2013 #1 Posted March 10, 2013 just got done putting my passing lites on and wiring in the relay. been through alot of threads, was just wondering how big a fuse should be used in the line from the battery?
slowrollwv Posted March 10, 2013 #2 Posted March 10, 2013 I used a 15 amp in mine but I could go with a lower fuse as I have changed my lights to LEDs. Also put an extension bracket on the light bar. It makes getting into the faring much easier ( you don't have to drop the light bar to remove the fairing). http://s253.beta.photobucket.com/user/slowrollwv/media/DSCF1816.jpg.html?sort=3&o=75
slowrollwv Posted March 11, 2013 #4 Posted March 11, 2013 Where did the extension bracket come from? I make them for those that want them.
dacheedah Posted March 11, 2013 #5 Posted March 11, 2013 the bracket saves you time in the future, add a longer screw with some rubber tubing around it so that the wind deflectors don't break.
dueyk1111 Posted March 11, 2013 Author #6 Posted March 11, 2013 already had my bracket from the totaled bike, used it. would'nt have put the lite bar on without one!
Flyinfool Posted March 11, 2013 #7 Posted March 11, 2013 As to what size fuse it should have. The formula to find out how many amps you will use is, P ÷ E = I . P is power of the lights in watts. (Remember there are 2 lights) E is voltage. 12V I is the Amps that will be drawn. Use the next higher standard size fuse.
etcswjoe Posted March 11, 2013 #8 Posted March 11, 2013 If you are running the 55 Watt bulbs 10 amps will work.
