Hummingbird Posted March 8, 2013 #1 Posted March 8, 2013 I have driven past it half a dozen times and when I went to Texas this time I told myself that I was going to finally stop on the way back. I am so happy that they offered a senior discount, it only cost me $8 to take the self guided tour, watch a short movie and reject the picture option of me sitting in or standing beside several different models. The museum was of course beautiful, crammed with corvettes and I did pick up some information that may or may not come in handy if I'm ever confronted by a Corvette afficianado. Might have really been upset if I would have had to pay full admission price
DragonRider Posted March 8, 2013 #2 Posted March 8, 2013 I too have driven by there many times in my 18 years of doing courier work that took me all over the country. I have always wanted to stop there and next time I get up that way I will. How much is the full fare admission. I can afford $8.00.

I don't remember what the full rate was because at the time I really didn't care. I was going in regardless, but the senior rate made my disappointment easier to take.
Gary N. Posted March 9, 2013 #4 Posted March 9, 2013 What did you expect? They've only made seven different models since 1953. Only so many ways to display seven cars. I'm not a Corvette fan but I did enjoy the museum. I also took a plant tour next door. No charge for GM retirees, at least when I did it.

Don't know what I expected so maybe I wasn't even disappointed I would liked to have taken the plant tour but it was shut down - probably for a new model change
dacheedah Posted March 9, 2013 #6 Posted March 9, 2013 Wife and I stayed in a hotel , I think it was while we were doing the bourbon run, by morning there were about 30 vets parked in the lot. It was at breakfast we found we were near the museum but their were some sweet cars out there.
Yama Mama Posted March 9, 2013 #7 Posted March 9, 2013 I have never gone to the museum either, but have always wanted to see it. I love Corvette's. When Ron (my first husband) and I started dating he owned a 66 Corvette. I never got to ride in it, but he lived at home with his parents, and his mother (God rest her soul) hated the looks of it. Over a period of time, Ron sold the car because of his mother's complaining. I loved the woman, but way down deep it is a very sore subject till this day. Yama Mama ( I like this one too)
