XV1100SE Posted March 5, 2013 #1 Posted March 5, 2013 Not a touring bike.... but pretty cool http://www.wired.com/autopia/2013/03/toyota-i-road/
Carbon_One Posted March 6, 2013 #2 Posted March 6, 2013 Neat ya but practical - NO. With a 28 mph top speed and a 30 mile range and then sit for 3 hours for a full charge you're pretty limited on where you can go. Nope not gonna work in my area. I can see something like it thou in the future if it has a better eletric motor or better yet small gas motor. Larry
mraf Posted March 6, 2013 #3 Posted March 6, 2013 For me it could be feasible to use alot. Since most of my trips are short 5-20 miles round trips. There are some very small Japanese Pickups sold near me that would work great but are not legal to use on the highway because of "crash safety" issues. My gasoline consumption :mo money:would be cut to almost nill. But then again, Big Brother calls the rules.
XV1100SE Posted March 6, 2013 Author #4 Posted March 6, 2013 Just thought it was neat, and with the TTXGP post... electric bikes are coming BUT they (and cars) have a long way to go to be practical.
MiCarl Posted March 6, 2013 #5 Posted March 6, 2013 I just skimmed an article today where Ohio has updated their motorcycle definition to include vehicles of this type.
