kkent66 Posted March 3, 2013 #1 Posted March 3, 2013 I have a 2006 RSV 53k miles. I am installing an AMP and new rear speakers. I am a little confused and the +/- wires for the rear speakers. I see a R/Y and Black/Brown. How do I know +/-???

dingy Posted March 4, 2013 #4 Posted March 4, 2013 Found this from a previous post. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18162 Looking at the post referred to it has the color codes for the rear as: Left Rear Speaker--------Red + Left Rear Speaker--------Brown - Right Rear Speaker-------Red/Yellow with a gray Strip + Right Rear Speaker-------Brown/Black - I have a front sub harness in my hand from a 2003 RSV. It does have the two color coded wires that are marked for the right speaker in it. But the left speaker pair colors are not present in the harness at the connector coming out of the Radio Master unit. The schematic shows 17 wires coming out of this connector and that is what is in the harness I have. Very possibly there was a change at some point, just relaying what is in the 2003 harness. Gary
Seaking Posted March 4, 2013 #5 Posted March 4, 2013 On my 2006, I have them identified and running as follows: Rear right Blue + Brown - Rear left Red + Green + Front right Orange + Black - Front left White + yellow - coming into this connector which is not the same colour coding the OP had found on his..?!
kkent66 Posted March 6, 2013 Author #6 Posted March 6, 2013 Just finished installing a power AMP and new speakers on my 2006 RSV. Much improved sound with the speakers and much louder with the AMP! I appreciate being able to look at articles in the tech library and input from others. The job was not hard just time consuming!
AngryAmish Posted February 8, 2015 #7 Posted February 8, 2015 What's the speaker size in the rear. I know front is 4"
