Brake Pad Posted March 3, 2013 #1 Posted March 3, 2013 Where does the Gas overflow line supposed to travel? ? under the tank, down between to battery then down OR somewhere else? the bike shop is telling me under the tank, down in front of the battery, between the rear of the engine. I really think there wrong. cause that's the way they have it traveling now, and I get grime, all over the casing, behind the V twins, and down the left side covers
crowrod Posted March 3, 2013 #2 Posted March 3, 2013 Is your valve cover gasket leaking? you will get a build up of grim between your rear cylinders from that.Ask me how i know
Brake Pad Posted March 4, 2013 Author #3 Posted March 4, 2013 I don't believe so, I over filled the tank one day, and when I got home, I had what I thought was oil drips running down the side cover of the bike. I went through the group, and found that over filling the tank isn't a good thing. I pulled the tank, and opened the air flow housing, and cleaned it out. (BUT) the over flow line when under the tank, down between the motor and the battier. I remember guys saying the over flow line should be down the left lower fairing, so it drips out behind the air filter?
djh3 Posted March 4, 2013 #4 Posted March 4, 2013 I thought the "vent" line that went in to the leg fairing was the carb vent lines.
jakester Posted March 4, 2013 #5 Posted March 4, 2013 Carb vent line goes to the front air filter. Tank vent line goes to the rear and down under the battery area. Recently had mine apart. Bill
