utadventure Posted March 3, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2013 Some of you know my son Sam, a couple of years ago he was riding an '81 Honda Silverwing. On the way to work one night, FedEx mid-night shift, the motor went out...siezed! We looked at changing out the motor but wasn't working very well. We not afraid to turn a wrench but it wasn't coming together. In December I ran across an '81 without all the plastic but a good running motor. Three months later, the owner finally accepted my offer the transition back to a full dress bike. We got part way through the transition today but still have to move the faring and swap it with the headlight and turn signals. http://s470.beta.photobucket.com/user/utadventure/library/Sams%20New%20Silverwing I'll update the file next week when we finish. Miles Posted March 3, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 3, 2013 Dave & Sam, I understand why Sam likes that '81 Silverwing Interstate. Here are some pictures of one of mine...it is an '82 Silverwing Interstate. I went through it completely, from front to rear, and it is a happy little bike. utadventure Posted March 3, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted March 3, 2013 Miles- That's a great looking Silverwing. Thanks for sharing! We wished we could find an '82 and upgrade to the 650 but didn't have luck on that one. Ride On!! Dave
