Pappa Bear Posted February 6, 2008 #1 Posted February 6, 2008 I need to replace my valve cover gaskets on my 89. Does anyone have a set they want to get rid of or what is a good website for parts, thanks
Guest tessa c2 Posted February 6, 2008 #3 Posted February 6, 2008 i had just purchased mine from my dealer, she had them on hand, can't remember, but the cost wasn't that high.
GeorgeS Posted February 7, 2008 #4 Posted February 7, 2008 you can't reuse them, working with the new ones is bad enough.
86er Posted February 7, 2008 #5 Posted February 7, 2008 Rick at Buckeye Performance is a good guy. Call him and he'll hook you up. He's also a member here and gives a VR.o discount. Get a tube of Yamabond. That'll help a lot when it comes time to put it back together.
lonestarmedic Posted February 7, 2008 #6 Posted February 7, 2008 I picked up the gaskets and the special seals for the bolt holes. The rubber is circa 1986 and no longer pliable. There are 16 of the at 1.50 to 2.00 a pop. However, ask 86er you need to change these or smell burnt oil. JB
