SteveB Posted February 20, 2013 #1 Posted February 20, 2013 Well last Saturday went to town to purchase gear for an upcoming hunting trip. On the way back home I talked the wife into stopping at the hd dealer and we looked at what they had on the showroom floor. We ended up trading for a 2013 roadglide ultra. I am still not sure how this will turn out but time will tell. I have spent the last couple of evenings taking off items from our bike.
SteveB Posted February 20, 2013 Author #3 Posted February 20, 2013 Most of what I took off the bike should go on the new one, I do have a Venture MP3 player that needs a new home. I also have the CD player that fits in the trunk, it has never been on the bike and is still in the box.
Wade 2000 Posted February 20, 2013 #4 Posted February 20, 2013 Congrats on the new ride:thumbsup2: If I ever bought a Harley the Road Glide Ultra is what I'd be looking at.. HEY NO PICS!!
bongobobny Posted February 20, 2013 #5 Posted February 20, 2013 That does NOT mean you, have to leave VR!! Once a member always a member! Actually the RG Ultra is a decent ride!
FuzzyRSTD Posted February 20, 2013 #6 Posted February 20, 2013 Hope you stay with us and congratulations on your new bike. As already said, if I where buying a Harley, it would be the Road Glide Ultra also. Fuzzy :usa:
SteveB Posted February 20, 2013 Author #7 Posted February 20, 2013 I was hoping that I could hang around.
cecdoo Posted February 20, 2013 #8 Posted February 20, 2013 Congrats on the new ride, looking forward to the Pics:thumbsup: Craig
eusa1 Posted February 21, 2013 #9 Posted February 21, 2013 I was hoping that I could hang around. bring it up to the international, i will bring a cassette player and see if we can graft it into the dash somewhere??
SteveB Posted February 21, 2013 Author #10 Posted February 21, 2013 I was wondering what I was going to do with all my cassettes:whistling:
spike13 Posted February 21, 2013 #11 Posted February 21, 2013 if its a fair price i would be interested in the venture mp3
SteveB Posted February 21, 2013 Author #12 Posted February 21, 2013 asking for 100.00 and you pay the shipping, does that seem okay.
bj66 Posted February 21, 2013 #13 Posted February 21, 2013 You picked the right one! But I may be a little biased.
jfoster Posted February 21, 2013 #14 Posted February 21, 2013 What color did you get? Regardless what people say about the shaky idle, mine is very smooth thru the rpm range. Coming from a RSTD to a Roadking...very satisfied with mine. Especially with better fuel mileage, quite drive tran and air flow. I had to put the heritage style bars on to get the ergonomics right, not sure how the RG's are.
bj66 Posted February 21, 2013 #15 Posted February 21, 2013 I put the same Heritage style bars on my RG Custom. 80 bucks for the bars.
Eddie Posted February 21, 2013 #17 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Well everybody new I would chime in here, I love mine, it will feel different and the thought of making a wrong decision came across me on the way home with it , but it was just because it is a totally different animal from the RSV . I haven't changed my bars but I know its a popular thing to do. I felt it was a little under powered for me but thats just me and I'm in the process of fixing that little problem. There is a site like this called roadglide.org that I belong to. So does BJ66. They have enough info over there to keep you busy for months. Dont leave you can rub in your CD player , ABS, and fuel inj. when you read all the HD jokes. and yeah wheres the pictures. Congrats Edited February 21, 2013 by Eddie
reddevilmedic Posted February 21, 2013 #18 Posted February 21, 2013 sounds like a nice bike! hurry with the pics. i bought a Victory last fall, but kept the Yammy...
Pegasus1300 Posted February 21, 2013 #20 Posted February 21, 2013 How you could trade off that beautiful 08 S model Venture is beyond me:)? Hope you enjoy the new Glide.I have always liked that style even when Harly first brought them out in the 90's.You all should be very happy with it.Did you find the steering lighter with the weight off the forks?
SteveB Posted February 22, 2013 Author #22 Posted February 22, 2013 We went with the midnight pearl. Dealer called and said they were ready to deliver, but with all the snow that we got I think it may be a day or to before it gets here. In the mean time I catch myself stopping and remembering where we have been on the venture.
PBJ Posted February 22, 2013 #23 Posted February 22, 2013 That does NOT mean you, have to leave VR!! Once a member always a member! Actually the RG Ultra is a decent ride! In fact you can never leave!!!Buwah ha ha ha !!!!!
SteveB Posted February 22, 2013 Author #24 Posted February 22, 2013 I'll get some pic up as soon, we got hit with snow. I found the roadglide forum and joined it also, though just prosed looking for information. sbrewer there. looking forward making the new one mine .
