Hello fellow Canucks. I have read on various sites that the 2012 and 2013 RSV's come with a star branded iPod touch, but it seems it is only in the USA. Is this the case, and if so, does that mean the "I-simple interface" does not come with the Candian models also?

Don't think it does.

I bought the iSimple adapter when they first came out and it is great to use with an iPhone or iPod. Set playlist, plug it in, then control from the handle bar controller. See my write up on the iSimple device at http://www.venturerider.org/modules/News/showarticle.php?t=66070&op=nextnewest .

After I picked up a Zumo 660, I stopped using the iPod and now just have a micro-SD card loaded with music in the GPS. This way I can listen to music and for those times I want the GPS for directions I get both. If you use the iSimple device you set the handle bar control Accessory. For the GPS you set it to Aux. Using the Buddy Rich cable you can connect the GPS to your cell phone via bluetooth and use your cell phone thru the GPS. Just seems to be a more complete solution.

If you get a GPS and then want to listen to music from the iPod and directions from the GPS you can't do both at the same time.

I work for a yamaha dealer and all RSV we sold last year came with the interface BUT the dealer has to send to mama yama to have it sent to the dealer..it is not with the bike when delivered..that is what i have seen at yamaha of newmarket

When I bought my bike ( US) I did not receive it with my bike and I asked the dealer to check into it. It turned out that when they ship the bikes they sent it in another box to the parts dept. They forwarded it to me and it was a simple install. I have problems once apple did an upgrade and I use my iphone on the handle bars plugged into the cassette aux jack with the gps and pandora pr the music so I get both.

I bought a 2012RSV in May 2012 and it does come with a 2gig I-pod Shuffle(U.S. gets an 8gig as I have heard) When I bought it the dealer got a-hold of Yamaha and it was shipped to them and then I went and picked it up.

Atoolnut, the dealer I bought from was unaware that this adaptor even exists. Do you think that they will receive it with the iPod shuffle that is supposed to come with it, or is there something else I can do to check into this?

I believe it is all part of the kit ....this goes in left saddlebag where th cd player would go and hooks into your existing cables which should be there

Yup, the existing cable is there. I just hope Yamaha sends the kit. The dealer found info on it as an accessory, but it would cost me over $300. That will piss me off if I have to buy it where others get it free.
