KISSFAN Posted February 18, 2013 #1 Posted February 18, 2013 I noticed a few posts earlier about this.. Thought I would start another one and see if anyone has ideas! I'd like to add rear speakers to my '84 for my little brother. Our old Kawasaki Voyager had them and I thought about getting some of those to put on. Any other ideas?
reddevilmedic Posted February 18, 2013 #2 Posted February 18, 2013 if i remember correctly, someone put them in the cases....i think it was a yellow bike...anyone????
Daitan Posted February 18, 2013 #3 Posted February 18, 2013 I would also be interested to see how and what the outcome of this would be. If it looks good, I might do it as well.
dingy Posted February 18, 2013 #4 Posted February 18, 2013 Attached are a few pictures of speakers I put into my saddlebags last year. I can't be of much help as to what speakers to get though. There is an electronics recycler place near me, and I found an HP monitor speaker set one day that looked like speakers would fit. Gave him $5 for it and they worked. Not waterproof, but i doubled up a sandwich bag and captured it between speaker & bag. I t could use an amplifier on system, when I get front & rears balanced, the volume won't go up quite high enough to overcome surrounding noise. I had a set of 2" round tweeters in year before, they were about worthless. Gary
Squidley Posted February 19, 2013 #5 Posted February 19, 2013 I remember one of our Canadian members (Mother) had a set of speaker pods on the top of his trunk. You would have to do some fabricating, but it can and has been done. Obviously you should use an after market radio as a stock stereo just isn't up to the task of pushing 4 speakers....
dacheedah Posted February 21, 2013 #6 Posted February 21, 2013 What about mounting something like these on your saddlebag guards http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pyle-PLMCS36-2-1-4-Cycle-Series-Black-Weatherproof-Handle-Bar-Mount-Speakers-/300859444449?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item460c9ecce1&vxp=mtr
BradT Posted February 21, 2013 #7 Posted February 21, 2013 Canadian members (Mother) had a set of speaker pods on the top of his trunk Mothers were similar to the ones on the rear of the Kawi. Looked quite good. But his was an 86. Brad
spear Posted February 21, 2013 #8 Posted February 21, 2013 Somebody has to say it: "Just upgrade to a Second Gen!" Problem solved.
