2Whlsrollin Posted February 4, 2008 #1 Posted February 4, 2008 Well, I thought I had spent enough money on bling for my "06" Venture. That was until I did a favor on Sunday before the game for a member from Indiana wanting me to go over and check out an 2000 milemum edition Venture near my home in Texas he is wanting to buy. I took it for a little ride and fell in luv with the Bub slip ons. Great sound and not to obnoxious. Got to get me a pair. Where is a good place to get them, and do you have to rejet?
yamahamer Posted February 4, 2008 #2 Posted February 4, 2008 No Re-jet Needed And I Ordered Mine Thru My Dealer.

Mavrick Posted February 4, 2008 #5 Posted February 4, 2008 I did not re-jet when I put the bubs on my 04......I think they give the old girl a little character.......
2Whlsrollin Posted February 4, 2008 Author #6 Posted February 4, 2008 i got my bubs thru west end motorsports.com, they were the cheapest i could find Thanks, I'll order them and get them on there way!
Gary N. Posted February 4, 2008 #7 Posted February 4, 2008 Jerry, FYI, it's an easy mod to install the Harley fishtail tips on the Bubs. I did a how to and posted on here somewhere. Let me know if you're interested and I'll see if I can find it. Gary
Guest Saddletramp Posted February 4, 2008 #8 Posted February 4, 2008 Are those the "Sleepers" that you are refering to? If it is then I sure would like to see how the fishtails fit on.
Gary N. Posted February 5, 2008 #9 Posted February 5, 2008 Are those the "Sleepers" that you are refering to? If it is then I sure would like to see how the fishtails fit on. Here's a link to the post I made on installing the HD fishtail tips. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11648&highlight=Fishtail+tips
emack Posted February 5, 2008 #10 Posted February 5, 2008 I bought the Bubs Sleepers from the dealer when I bought my leftover 2006 Royal Star. They did put shims in the carbs, etc... It was still a little too loud for me so I drilled out the rivets and pulled the baffles out to wrap. Probably a good thing I did as they came with just enough pink house insulation to harbor water and rust was already forming inside. I ended up wrapping the baffles with FMF (four stroke dirt bike three layer) wrap. They still have that nice rumble and are toned down just a notch. Better for 6am departures.
2Whlsrollin Posted February 5, 2008 Author #11 Posted February 5, 2008 Ordered mine from West End Motorsports today. Ibsaw was right, cheapest price out there. I will keep your comments in mind if they are a little to loud. Thanks
yamahamer Posted February 5, 2008 #12 Posted February 5, 2008 YOU WILL LOVE THE SOUND! ONLY LOUD WHEN YOU GET ON IT. I ALSO DRILLED OUT THE RIBITS BUT JUST TO TAKE OUT THE LITTLE THAT WAS IN THERE MADE NO SOUND CHANGE. GET READY TO RUMBLE:big-grin-emoticon:
MrRadi8 Posted February 5, 2008 #13 Posted February 5, 2008 I'd love to hear a set on a Venture. I loved them on my ACE1100 but it's two different critters.
yamahamer Posted February 5, 2008 #14 Posted February 5, 2008 I'd love to hear a set on a Venture. I loved them on my ACE1100 but it's two different critters. YOU CAN HEAR THEM UNDER VIDEOS ON THE FORUM THAT I HAVE POSTED. BUT THEY STILL DON'T DO THEM JUSTICE
MrRadi8 Posted February 5, 2008 #15 Posted February 5, 2008 YOU CAN HEAR THEM UNDER VIDEOS ON THE FORUM THAT I HAVE POSTED. BUT THEY STILL DON'T DO THEM JUSTICE None of that stuff does. Which is why I want to hear them on a Venture, not online.

flb_78 Posted February 8, 2008 #19 Posted February 8, 2008 Looks like I shoud have them on Monday. Is it hard to install them? I would not attempt it without a torch, welder, pipe bender, abrasive cut off saw and a pair of vice grips, otherwise, it would be almost too easy to change out the mufflers with out these items.
2Whlsrollin Posted February 16, 2008 Author #20 Posted February 16, 2008 Well, put on the bubs last night and took a brisk ride around the block a time or two. All I can is SWEET:)
