TheKid Posted February 14, 2013 #2 Posted February 14, 2013 nice looking gauge pod. bad thing is it will not work with any modifications to the handle bars. So no risers or flander upgrades. they will hit when you turn the bars at slow speed.
CaptainJoe Posted February 14, 2013 #4 Posted February 14, 2013 Believe Freebird had a 2 gauge pod years ago and sold it... I know because I wanted it bad.......... Don't even know who origionally made them? a member perhaps

slowrollwv Posted February 14, 2013 #8 Posted February 14, 2013 Believe Freebird had a 2 gauge pod years ago and sold it... I know because I wanted it bad.......... Don't even know who origionally made them? a member perhaps The gauge pods were made by Tripmasters and when he passed away the business went under. His wife sold all of his parts and stock to the Venturers. That is the story I was told when I got my pod from them.
eusa1 Posted February 14, 2013 #9 Posted February 14, 2013 Yes. Brent from the venturers took stock of everything, and i purchased the very last complete item that he had, many years ago. I soon found out that it would not work with my handlebar risors and sold it to patty at diamond r accessories.
Condor Posted February 14, 2013 #11 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) The difference between yours...nice job... and the original is the size of the tach. The original takes a 2 5/8" tach while the other takes a 2" guage of your choice. Edited February 14, 2013 by Condor
CaptainJoe Posted February 14, 2013 #12 Posted February 14, 2013 Actually like the look of both! The one thing I really wanted was a tac and an oil pressure guage. Didnt want to sacrifice my cassette player for one. Those things are valuable. Didn't realize that particular piece was metal? Where did you get the pods?
plumberman Posted February 15, 2013 Author #13 Posted February 15, 2013 got the pods on ebay , 1 double pod an cut it in half . ignition cover was chrome plastic . have flander bars and only lost a 1/4" of turing of handle bars . fabricatic a piece of 1/4" to steering stop and does not hit pods .
CaptainJoe Posted February 15, 2013 #14 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) if they were moved 1" towards rider they should clear? Would be closer to fuel cap , but I always fuelup from the backside. pretty cool. Edit- Was comparing yours to the other and looks like yours is about 1/2" more towards the front? Not critizing, just comparing. Edited February 15, 2013 by CaptainJoe
