mraf Posted February 13, 2013 #1 Posted February 13, 2013 Don't know if anyone here is interested but this site has alot of pictures. My father was at D-Day on a LST. He didn't talk much about it but when he did I could tell it left quite a impression on him. I'm always on the lookout for any pictures of the ship he was on. There were not any here but quite interesting anyway. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/pages/ww2/

Panjandrum Posted February 13, 2013 #4 Posted February 13, 2013 If ever you are on the south coast of England, visit the D-Day Museum in Portsmouth. http://www.ddaymuseum.co.uk/ I have visited a couple of times with my mother, who was on the Coast as the troops were gathering for the embarkation. The tapestry is amazing! Outside is this very moving statue of a young soldier. Who knows what was in his letter.
