gunboat Posted February 3, 2008 #2 Posted February 3, 2008 thanks for passing this along, i'am a aircraft mechanic for a major airline here in houston. i have walked up to and shook hands and said thanks to my fellow service men and women. there are times when i get strange looks from other people in the waiting area. this might be a better way to let them know i appreach their service. sure wasn't that way when i came back from 'nam, thanks again don
Gray Ghost Posted February 4, 2008 #3 Posted February 4, 2008 When my wife and I came back on R&R we had a lot of people voice appreciation. I have to admit that if I had seen someone do the "sign" before I watched the video I would not have had the slightest idea what they were trying to convey. I don't think that I will ever forget, even though I don't know who he/she is, the person that gave one of the officers in the airport when we were on the way back a huge roll of twenties with instructions to hunt down all the GIs and make sure that they had their supper paid for.
