frodotoo Posted February 7, 2013 #1 Posted February 7, 2013 Here's an article about us older riders getting injured more often and more severely - maybe the stats are skewed because more of us are riding now than before?? http://todayhealth.today.com/_news/2013/02/07/16872906-not-easy-riders-aging-bikers-3-times-more-likely-to-get-injured?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=3

bongobobny Posted February 8, 2013 #5 Posted February 8, 2013 Saw a sign today, "You may be older than you were, but not as old as you are going to be..."
Marcarl Posted February 8, 2013 #6 Posted February 8, 2013 Saw a sign today, "You may be older than you were, but not as old as you are going to be..." Certainly did notice that the other day, but I wasn't going to say anything, although now I could no longer resist.
Wrench Posted February 8, 2013 #7 Posted February 8, 2013 The one thing I've noticed is that "old" bones heal slower!!!
Yammer Dan Posted February 8, 2013 #8 Posted February 8, 2013 The one thing I've noticed is that "old" bones heal slower!!! I've heard that. Of course I wouldn"t know.......ouch ouch ouch....
Flyinfool Posted February 8, 2013 #9 Posted February 8, 2013 Unfortunately, I know that I can still grow bone as fast as a 12 year old.
Condor Posted February 8, 2013 #11 Posted February 8, 2013 Here's an article about us older riders getting injured more often and more severely - maybe the stats are skewed because more of us are riding now than before?? http://todayhealth.today.com/_news/2013/02/07/16872906-not-easy-riders-aging-bikers-3-times-more-likely-to-get-injured?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=3 I saw a similar article in my local paper, and I don't think that they took into consideration that many older riders are new riders, due to the economy, gas prices, and second childhood, and haven't gotten the experience that can only be gotten through years of riding. I might also add that every accident I've come across first hand is a 20-30 year old on a crotch rocket.
Nemo Posted February 8, 2013 #12 Posted February 8, 2013 What's Old? It's 10 years from the present day!
