the bike moves fine in nuetral just in gear doesn't want to start out I backed it in my garage no problem also looking for info to bleed out the clutch resevior all the fluids are old di the brakes so they work now

OK the reason I asked this is that the rear brake can lock up if there is too much fluid in the resovoir. Also, older brake calipers, they could seize up as well, not being able to release due to corrosion on the pistons.

Now as far as bleeding, I use a vacuum bleeder. The clutch bleed is under a square rubber plug on the left side of the engine above the middle cover. To bleed the rear and one front, start with the rear, then do the front, but there is also a bleed next to the battery box, which is the high point of the line from the rear to the front.

As long as you are sure nothing is physically locking up the brakes, then it is possible there is an issue with the clutch, but generally clutches slip, not lock up. They are a fairly simple xclutch to work on but replacing everything can get pricey. Member Skydoc17 can help you out with the price. Earl lives closer to Harrisburg Pa. If the weather was better I would probably ride down to Sayre as I am north of Olean NY.

There are copies of the service manuals available here on the site which should help you out...

I use to live in port allegany pa which is about 30 minutes from olean use to drive through arcade to go to six flags. I have to get the bike back out and try it again since i know the brakes are fixed had the problem when i first brought it home so i will let you know how it goes. Thanks alot for the info also now I have to find the circut board for air ride control mine is cracked :shock3:

Your cracked circuit board may be fixable by anyone who has soldering talent and some single strand wire. Where the traces are cracked you strip away the green, tin the trace, and lay a piece of wire over the crack. When done spray the board with clear lacquer or enamal to make it waterproof and you should be good to go. Otherwise keep watching fleabay for controllers but be prepared to pay around $60 give or take...

Somebody put the clutch together wrong. Take it apart to see if the thrust plate, (washer) is in the right position) #2 in the parts fiche. If you put this next to # 18, you'll come up the the problem you discribe.

Well after changing the fluids bleeding all the lines greasing the rear after the new tire install started it in the garage and it moved no problem :rotf:mo

My clutch has always had a bit of a noise that when the handle is pulled in (dis-engaged) it goes away...I've heard it on other ventures as well.

I think everyone missed the important part. It rolls fine BUT...it's stalling out. Meaning he has little power. It could simply me an intake vacuum leak of some kind or not all crabs are working properly. Leaks often come from an o-ring on each intake manifold at the head. I road mine for years just thuinking it was a lean beast. When it turned out to be ONE of these o-rings was bad. If you have more than one bad...uit will not want to play. Also it could be an electrical issue with the safety system for the side stand.
