What purpose does the diesel serve?

And while Im here, what does the white gas do?

Well the deisel I can see being diluted would lubricate and coat some internal parts like O rings and help sticky solinoids in injectors, maybe the slides in carbs. The "white gas" would make it so it actually combusts. But if its colman camp fuel I would wonder what the octane rating is? The "heat" is also known as "dry gas" in some parts I think.

If those are the ingredients that make up Seafoam, it confirms my thoughts about the product.

Other than maybe a problem preventer, I don't see much use for it.

I know this probably won't sit well with the Seafoam "purists",, but,, anyway. I stopped at Advance Auto last night specifically to pick up a can just to try it. A guy that works there, whom I've gotten to know with all the trips during the air cleaner thing, walks over and we start talkng about Seafoam. He picks up a can of STP brand in a similar can and says he's told that they are the same, that the patent has run out on Seafoam and now STP is canning the same stuff. The Seafoam is $10.99 vs $8.99 for the STP. He also said pretty much what's said here, either you're a believer, or you're not. I'm going to dose up my next can of 2-cycle gas to see if it'll clean out my lawn stuff.

I believe that fella was misinformed.

They are NOT identical products; similar yes, but they are not 'exactly the same thing'.

I have attached the MSDS for both so you can see for yourself.

Once again, I am making no claims on how well one works compared to the other -- just making the statement that they are, in fact, not identical products.

Like I said. I'm still going to try it anyway, looks like from the msds I just need to add a splash of IPA, (rubbing alcohol), which I do from time to time in the winter anyway.

I use a full can twice a year. Once in the spring and I store it with a full can over the winter.

How many ounces, would one put in a full tank? I don't know if they come in different sizes but this can is 16 oz. so add 8 ounces?

I'll add 4 to be sure
