Last year I made a set for an 86 of a friend..He had Vstar 1100 driver floor boards and made up bracket from 3/16 steel...little bit of trouble making template but he likes it..not OEM but works

I found a used aftermarket kit on Ebay I paid $170 for it, a pain to install and when I adjusted the shifter for comfort I couldn't get it into first gear. I then started out in second gear and tried the foot brake and locked the front wheel and I bit it on the dirt road. wasn't going fast, just a little bruised up. I'm working on making a new shifter lever, modifying the rear brake lever and will be doing the delink and R6 front brake kit soon.

I was going to put floorboards from a 2nd gen Venture, would've required the rear master cylinder and fabricating some brackets but then I found the above kit thought I'd give it a try.

The aftermarket floorboard kit places the floorboards in about the same place as the original foot pegs. I really would've liked them further forward so I'd sit on the cycle in a more chair-like position or like my (former) FLTR harley.

The aftermarket kit is an improvement over the stock pegs and easier to work with so I guess thats why I'm sticking with them.

Kuryakin makes all kinds of different boards...there are a number of other manufacturers but Kury seems to be the most popular (ie affordable) and most places carry them (Biker Bandit, Cruiser Customizing, as well as bike shops).
