Again we are famous, we got a mention in the new Cycle World. The Royal Star Venture was listed as the best buy in their monthly article. (This was an article about used best buy.) And Venturerider was mentioned as a good place to go for tech articles and such. You done good Don.

I think that is a matter of opinion. I think that the Voyager is a nice bike but no way would I say that it is a LOT nicer than a Venture. I can't even say that it is ANY nicer than a Venture. I road one at the International last year and I enjoyed it. There were things about it that felt flimsy though and I am not 100% sold on the design of the fairing. It ran OK but is a fairly typical V Twin. Those that love the V4 are not going to be impressed.

Yah! What Don said! There are a few things about the Kaw that are nicer but overall the quality just isn't there, especially the lower fairing. Liked the balance and seemingly lower center of gravity. Yes, for the money it's a good buy but not quite the bike as the Venture.

That being said, if I were to buy a new bike (Which ain't gonna happen) I would strongly consider a Victory...

I rode the same bike as Don. It had some nice things like the ride was great but I didnt like the fairing. Also the lowers on the fairing I didnt like. But with that said the bike ran well and rode well.

Never rode the Voyager. I did go look at one, and after fiddling with the saddle bags decided it's not worth the effort. They fall somewhere between a hard shell and tupperware. Way too flimsy for this rider..... :backinmyday:

I too have looked at the Voyager several times ... even rode it once. Like Jack says, the plastic seems flimsy and not once was I able to easily close those bag lids. As for passenger room, well, if your passenger is a small person .... :confused24:

Ive sat on a Voyager only. I have never rode one. I cant say in fairness what it is like compared to the RSV, but I can and will tell you about the GW.

I have owned an RSV and rode it many a mile.. I presently own a GW 1800 and have rode it many a mile.

The RSV is a lot more comfortable to sit on for long rides then the GW for sure.

The RSV loks a heck of a lot better than the GW with it being all tupperware.

Both bikes are durable, and dependable.

I like the power and the handling of the 1800 v/s the RSV.

I wish my feet touched the ground "flat footed" like they did on the RSV.

I will try out a voyager this year just to compare it, but Im really leaning towards a new F6B.... :whistling:

I'm kinda surprised by how many Venture riders over the years say they would want to go back to a V twin. I was branded by Harley for many years, than I rode a V 4. No way would I go back to a V twin.

V-twin, V4, V6, V8...heck... I dont care one way or the other...

All I know is...............WE ARE STILL FAMOUS !!!!!!!!!!! right Lewis...:thumbsup2:

Eck,

I too was looking forward to the new F6B until my son pointed out a few new road test and reviews last night while watching the Beyonce' Bowl. Having Valkyries also, we are always looking forward to new flat 6 technology/bikes. Well, the new F6B is on a g/w frame with g/w suspension and g/w tires and exact g/w motor, etc. etc. etc. :confused07: You get the idea. If you are Honda and given the opportunity to conceive a new sport/touring/glide bike, why just change plastics? at $19,999 (without options that are standard on g/w like centerstand and reverse) I am not excited anymore. (and it's just 60lbs lighter than a g/w) DANG IT. Sure is purty tho...and I still want to sit on one :whistling::whistling:

Ride safe,

James :biker::biker:

Voyager = Slow, couldn't pull a skin off of pudding. No clearance on corners, excessive heat. Nice looking though. By the way, the section in Cycle Magazine was " best USED bike". :) Ron

I agree with almost everything you said except I felt the GW was lower slung than the RSV?? But power and handling no doubt go to the wing. You should though give the Victory CCT a hard look and ride. I really believe it has the best qualities of both the RSV and GW and still made in the USA
