Wrench Posted February 2, 2013 #1 Posted February 2, 2013 Just got my March Cycle World out of the mailbox, and guess what?? The poor 'ol "outdated" Venture made the Best Used Bikes column. Here's the short version,,, Why it's desirable. With very few exceptions, the Venture hasn't changed since intro'd in '99, so if you can find an early model in good condition, you can basically buy the same bike for about 1/4th the price of a new one. These are comfortable, capable, entertaining motorcycles for long-distance travel, EVEN IF THEY DON'T BOAST THE LATEST IN TWO-WHEEL TECH. The ride is pleasant, the erg's are accomodating, and the V-4 provides smooth, steady power and one of the more soulful exhaust notes in ALL of motorcycling, (WELL, DUH!!) Here's the best part,,, Useful Resources. An excellent variety of info can be found at "that other site":). Aside from the usual forum chatter, the site contains volumes of tech and maint info. Likewise with VENTURERIDERS, a forum that deals with all Venture models as well as other Royal Stars. Finally, a little love for the Venture, AND a shout-out for the site. Thanks Don, for puttin' this thing together and lettin' us all ride along with you. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!

If it weren't for Don and the forum and its great members, I wouldn't have pulled the trigger on my venture. Thanks Don and Co.
2WHEELSFORME Posted February 2, 2013 #3 Posted February 2, 2013 Wish they would not drive up the cost of used Ventures, mine is going to be worn out someday and I'll need another one.
dacheedah Posted February 2, 2013 #4 Posted February 2, 2013 Ventures never wear out, but parts of them look for ways to get to MD
Freebird Posted February 3, 2013 #6 Posted February 3, 2013 Very nice. Now they know what we all know.
Wrench Posted February 3, 2013 Author #7 Posted February 3, 2013 We been saying... Yeah, but not everybody is as quick to catch on as we are!!
