A couple weeks ago I had a wheelin' dealin' thing going with a gentleman in New Brunswick. It turned out that he ended up owing me 6 lobsters. He couldn't get them exported from there so he had Maine Seafood overnight my lobsters to me. Got them yesterday noon and by 6:30 last evening it was all over except for a glass of wine.

We had fresh lobster once when we were in Maine 15 years ago but not since. They were really good but I think for the mess they ( I ) make in preparing them, it's a lot easier to just get frozen tails and cook them especially if someone else is paying for them:thumbsup:

Sounds like you enjoyed them. When I lived in Key West we would dive for lobsters there is nothing like going straight form the sea to the grill.

I've been to a "lobster fest" at the Yacht club in Victoria BC a couple times. They have the lobsters flown out from the east coast fresh caught.

Yup, can get a bit messy snapping those things apart but sure is great eating!

We all sit at a long table, people on either side and the first time I broke the thing apart, I sprayed juice all over the guy across from me. The "guy" was an "associate" of mine ... he was a bit of an a-hole so I figgured it couldn't of happened to a better person LOL! (no, I did not do it on purpose :smile5:)

We enjoy them a couple/three times a year at least! About a year ago we switched from boiling them to steaming them and using beer to steasm them! Makes an obvious difference in the taste! Works with crab legs too...

Me and wife took the grandkids to Disney world last spring and we went out to a place called Angel's Lobster house in Kissimmee FL it was a little pricey but well worth it . There's another place up in Stonington CO called Custy's they say it's worth the trip .

I'm thinking it's time for a Meet & Eat.

Prizes for playing with your food!

:big-grin-emoticon:

Ya know Mike, I always wondered if there was something you could do with the shells! What can you do with crabs legs???

That's like an Ohioan not liking squirrel. Just seems unnatural :fatsmiley: as for me I could eat my weight in those Atlantic cockroaches

Keith, if you get over-run with lobster, just let me know and I can take some off your hands, usually 4 at a time. As a matter of fact, I can send you the shipping carton including seaweed, just put 4 of them critters in it and send it back. :smile5:

Many of us on the "other" coast enjoy lobster as well but you REALLY need to try albacore!!!

If the Albacore is like tuna, I'll pass. I see tuna at the Golden Corral buffet but I just can't eat it. Too dry, too -

just don't like the pink fish. Wife make a tuna salad every once in a while and I still have to load it up with mayonnaise.

Do you mean Abalone? Albacore is a type of tuna. Fried abalone is very good.:thumbsup2:

There is a place, just down the hill from LL Bean in Freeport ME that tourists go to eat really fresh lobster. Can't beat it.

My brother and his wife (RIP both) used to order lobster from the Myers Park school in Charlotte (rich private school). They had lobster sales instead of Krispy Kremes. Little snobs,, hehe. Well after a few beers, he would always cut the rubberbands off their claws and let them have at it!!! Fight to the death,,, kind of. The looser went in the pot first! PETA,,,, LOL,,,, hehe.

Many years ago, at Lowery AFB, Denver Co., we had lobster every Saturday. Yum!

I was stationed at Lowery in 1969-1970. Well, training school for a year. I forgot what they taught me.. DID NOT INCLUDE LOBSTER,,, unless they could fly or drop bombs.

But, God I loved living in Denver. Right downtown, 5 blocks from the capitol.
