KIC Posted February 1, 2013 #1 Posted February 1, 2013 My friend who has a 2001 2nd Gen asked me to ask you guys a question: He just purchased LA Choppers slip-ons, not the full exhaust. Does he need to do anything to the carbs or timing or anything?? Inquiring minds want to know...
spike13 Posted February 1, 2013 #2 Posted February 1, 2013 i run the same mufflers and did nothing but slip them on have had no problems i am also running K&N air filters and just received my jet kit from Ivan's Performance today looking forward to more power this summer
Wade 2000 Posted February 1, 2013 #3 Posted February 1, 2013 I put Samson's on mine and they are a straight through pipe plus added K&N filters with no jetting mods.
djh3 Posted February 1, 2013 #4 Posted February 1, 2013 From what I have read and also been told, nope. Slide old ones off, put new mufflers on and enjoy. No jetting required.
Wrench Posted February 1, 2013 #5 Posted February 1, 2013 Wide-open Roadhouse mufflers, and soon-to-be-tested air cleaner mod. No jetting!!
KIC Posted February 1, 2013 Author #6 Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks guys. I told him he needed to slide the old pipes off and slide a nice 1st Gen onto the new pipes..but he is being stubborn again...
