bj66 Posted January 31, 2013 #1 Posted January 31, 2013 Just watched the weather on t.v., how depressing. Right now it is -12 out with a windchill of -28. Tomorrow's high is -5 and tomorrow night it will be -25 with windchills hitting -45. This crap sucks. Its supposed to be in the teens this weekend though. Will probly feel like going to the beach or getting the bike out for a ride with those balmy temps........
Flyinfool Posted January 31, 2013 #2 Posted January 31, 2013 I really wish you would keep it there. My TV says it is headed this way.
bongobobny Posted January 31, 2013 #3 Posted January 31, 2013 I don't have the heart to tell him we had a record breaking high of 67 today...
bj66 Posted January 31, 2013 Author #4 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm hoping on friday just to make it to 6.7 degrees
Venturous Randy Posted January 31, 2013 #5 Posted January 31, 2013 I really wish you would keep it there. My TV says it is headed this way. I have to agree. I rode yesterday and saw 70 degrees on the bike. The storm front moved through today with a lot of wind. The next couple of days are supposed to be in the high 20's. I just keep telling myself that this too shall pass. RandyA
KarlS Posted January 31, 2013 #6 Posted January 31, 2013 Someone turned on the heat for a couple days here in Michigan, but now it looks like the pilot went out.
Barrycuda Posted January 31, 2013 #7 Posted January 31, 2013 Please do not check the temps down here....you might really be upset.
Mike G in SC Posted January 31, 2013 #8 Posted January 31, 2013 Short sleeve ride yesterday, in the high 70's. Then, evening storm (the big blow that has been doing tornado's), dropping us 20 degrees. If it helps, it is -10,,,, in my freezer.
pmelah Posted January 31, 2013 #9 Posted January 31, 2013 sorry my a/c broke and wont shut off for the next week cant get a repair man here untill then it was 35 here and i froze yesterday was 68
PBJ Posted January 31, 2013 #10 Posted January 31, 2013 Just go out sit on the bike and keep repeating to yourself, IT'S ALMOST SPRING ,IT'S ALMOST SPRING, IT'S ALMOST SPRING.....
djh3 Posted January 31, 2013 #11 Posted January 31, 2013 Well I suspect this summer you all up north will be telling us how nice it is. I can inform you the temp really dropped here last night too. All the way to the mid 40's. Burr The weather folks were talking for 3 or 4 days about a cold front. I'm still waiting. I dont see 70's in the daytime as cold myself. The way this weather has been this winter, if you all can hang on a couple days it'll be back in the mid 50's or 60's.
bongobobny Posted January 31, 2013 #12 Posted January 31, 2013 Yup! Woke up today and it's snowing! Hey, don't like the weather in Western New York? Wait a minute, it will change...
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 31, 2013 #13 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) According to my little tablet here, its gonna be riding weather this week here in Texas. Edited January 31, 2013 by tx2sturgis
bj66 Posted January 31, 2013 Author #14 Posted January 31, 2013 Right now at 10:30 a.m. the temp is -12 with a 17 mph wind. Making the wind chill temp of -36. Weather reports showing windchills of -45 to -50 tonight. Good news is by tomorrow afternoon highs of close to 20 above. Pretty much every school around is closed for the day. My 10 year old daughter and I decided to make this afternoon a Gilligans Island marathon. Going to be a good day!
pmelah Posted January 31, 2013 #15 Posted January 31, 2013 it has warmed up to 48 our high is 57 today
Yammer Dan Posted January 31, 2013 #16 Posted January 31, 2013 Please do not check the temps down here....you might really be upset. HEY DON!! What happened to that rule that those Florida guys aren't allowed to post from 1st Nov. to March???:snow2:
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 31, 2013 #17 Posted January 31, 2013 Stopped by the local hardware store/trading post (called McDonald Trading Post) to buy some miscellaneous bits of hardware, along with 2, 10 foot sticks of 3/4 aluminum square tubing for a project I'm working on. That nose rack came in handy! Right after I took these pics, I had a gentleman step up to visit about the rig...more UDF. http://sovietsteeds.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif After dropping off the tubing at my house, I took the rig out in some VERY loose and soft dirt fields near me, and used the 2WD for the first time under power. In that mode, it likes to GO, but hates to TURN. Now, if it would only snow! (its 67 degrees here today!)
DFred1 Posted January 31, 2013 #18 Posted January 31, 2013 My 10 year old daughter and I decided to make this afternoon a Gilligans Island marathon. Going to be a good day! I like Gilligan's Island.... Weather here has been up and down, snow day before yest, close to 60 now...
