meach Posted January 30, 2013 #1 Posted January 30, 2013 Maybe its a good sign for all the folks that live up in snow country but upon arrival back home from a ride on my RSV today (temp in low 70's:)) I noticed a pretty good size flock of cranes (more than 100) passing over headed north, probably riding the warm air coming up out of the gulf, perhaps a sign of an early spring. I evidently live right along their migration path of, hear/see them every fall/spring going over. Some times so many and so high that I can hear them but have to work at seeing them.
Guest scarylarry Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Posted January 30, 2013 They will stop at the state line, low around 15 this weekend...:rotf:
Flyinfool Posted January 30, 2013 #3 Posted January 30, 2013 I hope they aint headed here. It was 63 today but is headed for zero and lots of snow tomorrow.
Wrench Posted January 30, 2013 #4 Posted January 30, 2013 I drove past a house on my way home one afternoon last week and there were about a 1/2 dozen Easter flowers blooming along side the driveway. I asked my boss about them and he said they bloom according to the temp of the ground, so I guess it's been a pretty mild winter here, we've only had a few days of frozen ground so far. Hopefully we won't get blown away tonite, we've just been issued a tornado watch, crazy weather, almost 70 here today. I heard some geese headed north a few days ago too. My Dad used to say that every day we made it in January put us one day closer to Spring.
