I have a 2009 RSTD that I've had about 1.5 years. Shortly after I purchased it I was lifting it with a motorcycle jack and the bike came to rest on the rear lift arm of the jack where a small bracket is welded to the bottom of the bike frame. The bracket bent over.

The bracket is about 1" x 7" and I believe it has a couple of holes in it.

I've been riding the bike ever since and see no issue but I'm wondering what this bracket was for. Could it be possibly for a center stand?

Thanks for any input.

Nobody really knows what it was for. I heard that it was used to attach a display stand that Yamaha used. Yamaha never offered a center stand for the RSV. There were some on the aftermarket from Rivco, Diamond R Accessories and myself that do use that bracket for mounting.

I have taken over a dozen new ventures out of the crate at the dealership over the years, and have never seen anything mounted to them.

i do have a rivco center stand mounted to my rsv, and a diamondr stand mounted to the wifes rstd.
