SilvrT Posted January 21, 2013 #1 Posted January 21, 2013 Do I look impressed ?
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted January 21, 2013 #3 Posted January 21, 2013 Rick I walked past it and never even looked..... what was the price tag on it do you recall? It was good to see you and Nina at the bike show, Lori checked out the Coast Rider pamphlet and thought it was cool. Hope to see you two again soon. What I did spend a lot of time with was the Vulcan Voyager. The only real down side if there is one is the 1700 Vtwin. I do love the V4. http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/Product-Specifications.aspx?scid=7&id=723 The Voyager has all the front fairings that the 2nd Gen seems to have lost.

I seem to recall somewhere around $24 Thou. It was good to see you and Nina at the bike show, Lori checked out the Coast Rider pamphlet and thought it was cool. Hope to see you two again soon. Good to see and chat with you too Kevin! Glad to see you made it back home safe ... did you get any more of that frozen stuff on ya? What I did spend a lot of time with was the Vulcan Voyager. I snapped a couple shots of that Orange one with the Flame job .... thought ... "hmmmm similar color to my wing... would those flames look ok on it?" ... then I said NO! lol As for the Kaw Voyager, Nina and I rode one when they came out in '09 ... it had a lot of V-twin vibration under load and Nina had no room whatsoever. Now, for my money, if I were gonna buy something in a V-twin, I'd be going for the Victory CCT. Awesome bike!

A friend and I demoed it last summer and if I wasn't knee deep in home improvements it'd be parked in the garage. My buddy however just made a deal on one up in MI and we're gonna go pick it up Thursday. 2012 Pearl White He's coming off of a BMW 1200cl and Kaw Z1000 both sold. Maybe I'll get to ride it:fingers-crossed-emo

djh3 Posted January 21, 2013 #8 Posted January 21, 2013 Yea man the CCT would be in my garage if the $$ was a little different at the time I bought. The wife and loved it when we got to ride one Dec 2011. The ANiv one I got an e-mail about the otherday, funny thing is it looks just about like my 09 RSV. The money for the aniv edition is stupid high to me, more than a Ness custom. I kind of fell for the apple green one with black flames

If I only had $30000.00 sittn around I'd throw it that way:mo money:

When I saw the red one head on with that big chrome bezel around the headlight, and the lower fairings I had to do a double take. It kinda looks like a modernized Venture

etcswjoe Posted January 21, 2013 #12 Posted January 21, 2013 I did not like the CCT when I rode it not enough power and too clunky.

SilvrT Posted January 22, 2013 Author #14 Posted January 22, 2013 I did not like the CCT when I rode it not enough power and too clunky. You need to ride it differently. I thought the same the first time I rode it. Second time I experimented a bit ... found that if under 2500 (maybe a bit lower) rpm, it would kinda be "clunky" and that's because it was lugging ... especially once you got beyond 2nd gear and even more obvious in 5th or 6th. But you crank that thing anywhere from 3000rpm & up and it hauls a$$. They are not noted for having low-end power/torque like a Harley.
Wrench Posted January 22, 2013 #15 Posted January 22, 2013 It's definitely a different look for a "'wing". The guy I got my mufflers from last week has a '97 Valkyrie, and I didn't realize that it's the F6, so maybe this is gonna be the reincarnation of the Valk??

There may have been something wrong with the CCT and the Vision I rode, every time I would change gears during each half hour ride it would clunk really loud and you could feel it come up through the bike. I think what turned me off most was the factory guy doing the Demos got mad and said I did not know how to ride a motorcycle when I asked about the lack of power and clunking. He may have been trying to say what you are but he was not very nice about it. Edited January 22, 2013 by etcswjoe

He may have been trying to say what you are but he was not very nice about it. The first one I rode was, I think, a 2010 and it did seem to clunk when changing gears. Last summer I tried a 2012 and did a really good ride on it, by myself. It did seem to clunk between 1st and 2nd but after that, and once I figgured out how to "ride" it, from 2nd up it was fine. From demoing several different bikes over the years, I did not feel that it was any worse than anything else I'd ridden and better than some.
Condor Posted January 22, 2013 #18 Posted January 22, 2013 LONE EAGLE sez I don't need no friggin' Gold Wing.....:whistling: http://www.cast-aways.com/images/IMGP0947%20(Medium).JPG
