I can recommend two bakeries in New Orleans that excell in making the best King Cakes around. One is Haydel's bakery in Jefferson, La. My wife lived around the corner from them all of her life. They will ship anywhere in the world. The other is Gambino's located in New Orleans.

Dragon, I got voluntold that I was going to the Superbowl and Mardi Gras this year and will try to give one of those a try. I was watching Guy on Diners, Drives, & something else go to a bbq joint in the 9th ward (I think) and plan on visiting them too. Love some good bbq!

I lived in NOLA for 55 years and never really found any good BBQ there. Seafood is great and hardly anybody messes that up. I will be getting off of a cruise ship on Super Bowl Sunday. Enjoy your visit.
