I have three credit cards on record with Paypal. About 5 years ago I closed my PO Box and started using my street address for orders. I changed the address on my MC and AMEX. I didn't change it on my visa because I never use it. I have placed many orders using my amex and the order is always shipped to my street address. I just got an order a few minutes ago that I placed on my amex and it was delivered to my street. A few weeks ago I placed an order on my amex. It was delivered to the old po box on January 11. I called the post office and they put it in the box so the person that has that box got my order. I called paypal and talked to Ms Patel. I explained what happened and told her it was their error. They don't need a live person, they could just play a recording because she kept repeating the same thing. She told me to go to my profile and click on change street address. I did and said now what. She said look at the address for your amex you will see it has the po box. I said no it doesn't. I am looking at it and it only has my street address. She then said on my records I have the po box for my home address and that is why they used it. I said Ok where do I find my home address. She said look at the visa card and you will see it has the po box. I told her it does but I haven't used that card in over 5 years and the mc and amex I now use have only the street address. She kept repeating the same thing over and over. I asked for a supervisor that could understand english and he was the same way. They wouldn't admit they made an error. I lost it and said some real ugly things and he hung up on me. I will never, never use paypal again.

Just a thought, on every PayPal order I have placed, they show the delivery address before you commit to the payment. and I print out that form. If you did that, you would have proof of what it was supposed to ship to.

I always have to confirm the shipping address is correct before the order is placed. And on Mike's bank card the billing address is different than the mailing/shipping address. Just a thought.

I have a number of different addresses that I have things shipped to depending on what the item is.

I have to have each of the address registered with each of the credit cards that I use AND each of the addresses registered with Pay Pal and each of the addresses Registered with eBay.

Many sellers will only ship to the address that comes up on the eBay or PP payment receipt regardless of what you put in the instructions or notes. This is the ONLY way they are covered in the case of a dispute later on. Almost all stolen credit cards will want the order shipped to a non confirmed address.

On every purchase I have to make sure that it is calling for the correct address.

As far as your package that was delivered to your old PO box, I would send a letter to that PO box, explain the situation, and ask nicely if you can have your package back. Don't forget to give them your name, address, and phone number so that they can get back to you. They may be sitting with an item that they have no idea what to do with and if you do not give them a solution it will end up in the trash, or if it is something cool they will just keep it.

Living in this giant hamlet of Malvern Ohio and being less than a block from the P.O. and NOT on a rural delivery route I cannot get mail delivered to my house. I have to maintain a P.O. Box. It finally became apparent to most on line sellers that some people did not have a mail man and therefore asked for a billing address and a shipping address. In my case they are not the same.

Now having said that, for many years before PayPal I had one heck of a time getting on line orders because I had a P.O. Box. "I'm sorry we do not deliver to P.O. Boxes" was the common response.

PayPal as well as others changed all that with the separate addressses -

I use PayPal for everything I can simply for the security of the purchase.

I have used my amex for many orders. I received an order this morning and I used amex and it uses my street address because this is the address I have in paypal. Before I confirm an order and hit the button to submit I always make sure the information is correct. Out of all the orders I have made why would just one list the old po box? Paypal made an error but they won't admit it.

Did you try to contact the owner of the PO box to get your stuff?

I often have to play mail exchange with someone 2 blocks over that has a similar last name and the same house number, different street. He often gets my mail and I often get his. We have both complained to the post office to no avail. At least we are both civil and freely exchange stuff.

I don't know why but every once in a while my shipping address will get changed to my old house that I moved out of 9 years ago while using PayPal. Same with the phone number.

I use PayPal quite a bit but I always check ALL the information before clicking "confirm".

Good luck with your package.

I understand your frustration, but pay pal is safer than sending your CC number across the net...

Eddie, I would suggest you go to the post office and speak to a postal inspector. I beleive it is illegal to open mail that is not addressed to you, if the PO holder opened the item and it had your name and a mis-addressed it is a crime. I know you only want it back and maybe they can help you work it out.

If the item has not been delivered you can pay a fee to reroute it https://www.usps.com/manage/intercept-package.htm?

good luck

I talked to the post office and they put a note in the po box of the individual asking them to return the package but they said if they don't there's nothing they can do. If paypal can't do something as simple as list my address as I have it listed on their records I don't trust them to be secure with my credit card.

Just out of curiousity, but why do you have 3 CC's listed with Paypal?? Even one you don't ever use... I have one registered, and it has both the P.O. and my Phys. address. I've never had a problem??? :confused07::confused07::confused07:

I have 2 listed, my debit card with the joint account Mike and I share, and the debit card on the bank account Mike has alone.

Seperate accounts might be an even better way to go rather than 2 cards under one eBay ID....

Mike never buys anything on his own. He'll ask me to go look at things and find the best price for said item. Having 2 cards on one account, while not safe makes it a bit easier for us. I even have a couple of cards that I load money on before making big ticket buys...like the laptops and such when using paypal.

I have an account at a different bank that I only use for paypal and online purchases. I like to keep online stuff separate from real life stuff. i also have an Mastercard debit card for that account in case someone needs a credit card for a purchase. Maybe I am being paranoid, but i think the small expense for peace of mind is worth it.

I believe I'd think twice about abandening Paypal all together if I were you. Some day they may be of a benefit to you. I bought an item for $153.00 on e-bay, paid through paypal, and never received the item. I contacted Paypal and I don't know what they did to the seller, but they gave me all the money back into my account. I trust them! Owen.

When I was going to use paypal with different cards they said to enter the other cards on the same account. When you start to place the order it list the info for the last credit card you used and if you are going to use a different card there is a drop down box that has the other cards listed and you choose which card to use. If it's a personal order I used my mc. If its a business expense I use the amex. You list the shipping and billing address for the card and it is stored in their system. So when I used my amex for this order it prefilled the card number and shipping and billing address. The order showed my address without the po box. But when paypal processed the order they somehow listed my name, street address and the old po box address. Their argument is that the po box was listed as my home address but when I ask them where to find my home address they take me back to the amex card which shows the street address. I have never entered a home address and the po box was never my home address. It was my business address. There is no way they will listen to you. When I ask where is my home address in the system they tell me to look at the address for the visa card that I never use. Last week I ordered something for the business and I clicked on the amex card and it prefilled the street address of my business with no po box. But the order I didn't get was done the same way. I clicked on the amex card and it prefilled my card info and my business street address but somehow it changed the address and added the old po box. The idiots at paypal won't listen to you. They just go back to: "you have the po box listed as your home address." You can't reason with an idiot.

Don't talk to the clerk, call a postal inspector.

Just for ships n giggles tell them you have a post office box and a box came with someonelses name on it, you want to keep it and you want to know what your rights are. Wait for their responce and continue the conversation.

Lets just say you were walking along and your wallet falls out of your pocket. You know who picked it up and they won't return it. If your wallet has your ID inside, keeping the wallet and depriving the owner of it is theft. Not had to find out who has the package. . .

Hey Flyinfool,

I wrote a letter to the occupants of my old PO box asking them to please send the package to me. I got to work today and a package was in my mailbox. The people got my letter and put the package in my mailbox. I'm glad to know there are still some honest people in the world.

Now, even Forrest Gump could have done that!

Simple, eh?

Had a similar issue when I made a recent purchase. Took 2 weeks to get the item when it was shipped to old work add. Turns out I had 3 listed and it was the oldest and not the one that I showed as my current shipping add.Didnt remember that even being in there. However, when I opened the item (used Tag Heuer watch) needing a new band, it turned out to be a Japanese fake. Filed with PayPal and three weeks later I finally got all my funds back. It took longer because seller was in Canada and had to pass there banking.

So, check your "Ship to" addresses first

Use PayPal to avoid sending you CC info to the crooks and let Paypal protect you from SCAMS like I ran into.
