pofarm Posted January 14, 2013 #1 Posted January 14, 2013 I found a picture someone posted here a while back. It is of a V max and a Royal Star cam side by side for comparison. I can't find it again. Could the person who posted it, or someone who may have saved it, repost it here? Thanks!
dingy Posted January 14, 2013 #2 Posted January 14, 2013 I found a picture someone posted here a while back. It is of a V max and a Royal Star cam side by side for comparison. I can't find it again. Could the person who posted it, or someone who may have saved it, repost it here? Thanks! I have it saved at home. I will try and remember to post it. Gary
dingy Posted January 15, 2013 #3 Posted January 15, 2013 1st picture is a comparison of V4 pistons. 2nd picture is of Venture & VMax cams. Gary
Yamamike Posted January 15, 2013 #4 Posted January 15, 2013 I'm guessing the cam on the left is the VMax??
pofarm Posted January 15, 2013 Author #5 Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you! I wanted to make sure the cams I bought were Vmax and not RS. I'm guessing the cam on the left is the VMax?? No. The right one is the Vmax cam. It has a bit more lift and a bunch more duration than the Royal Star cam.
pofarm Posted January 15, 2013 Author #6 Posted January 15, 2013 What year is the Vmax cam in your picture? Mine is supposed to be out of an 85. The lobes are definitely wider than the RS cam, but don't look as wide as Vmax lobes in the picture.
GaryZ Posted January 15, 2013 #7 Posted January 15, 2013 The picture is from my conversion. The cam on the left is from a 1987 VR 1300 and the cam on the right is the Vmax used from 1985 to 2003. The lift is actually the same. The duration is where the magic happens
