I haven't payed for my license since 1969.

It's one of the perks for being a military vet in Ga.

I may have been a big dummy for a long time as I've been paying for mine (and I'm a vet) if I recall when I looked into perks back when I moved to GA from TN (1981) they said you had to have been inducted while living in GA to get the freebie (I wasn't as I'm from TN), now on the form is a place to check "have lived in GA 2 yrs prior to applying" for freebie so any vet as long as you've lived in GA two years gets it free. Guess I never thought to check again I guess they changed it along the way.

On a side note if you haven't been up to the new Georgia National Cemetery in Canton you should check it out some time, its really nice. It's on the path of one of the rides we like to take (about 30 min from my house) its also where I'll probably be permanently parked some day.

To me the enhanced DL makes much more sense than a passport. Unless you're flying between CDN and USA you don't need a passport license fees going up.

The Enhanced is a pain to get. You have to make an appointment, have marriage licenses and go to Niagara to be interviewed. Thought the enhanced can fly to the US but not other countries.

What isn't going up ?

I haven't been through the process but I know the regular license office won't do it. I was told you have to go to the Ontario gov't office in Windsor. Can't be any harder then a passport. Mine is due in Sept. so we'll see. I just hate having to carry a passport just to go to the States. EDL is only good for land or water crossings.

Yea, I've been there a couple of times. Once to lay my nephew to rest, then again to spread his dads ashes. It is a beautiful place and what a ceremony they give.
