06 RSTO - Starter button has delay

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

 

My 06 RSTD Midnight has a delay or pause when I hit the starter switch. I turn on the ignition and wait for a a few seconds and then hit the start button. It starts and cranks real good but it takes a second or two before cranking. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any thing like this and if they have come up with a remedy. I just get a creepy feeling that one day I will be unable to start at all. Thank you all in advance for your help.

common concern,

remove and clean both battery cables, doesn't matter if they look or feel clean, just remove them and shine up the connections and see if that puts a cure to it!
