AmnChode Posted February 1, 2008 #1 Posted February 1, 2008 Well, I has finally about to order the crome clamps from Iron City Cycles to put a set of RKs on and when I went to the page, it has a network solutions page up (which usually means the site has gone *poof*)... So do yall know of anywhere else to pick them up???
2WHEELSFORME Posted February 1, 2008 #2 Posted February 1, 2008 You don't need them if you salvage the chrome bell reducer from the stock pipes. A little more trouble and it ruins the stock pipes but looks much better I think.
shooter3001 Posted February 1, 2008 #3 Posted February 1, 2008 The clamps you are looking for are made by V-Twin MFG. Part #31-9920. They can be found at zoomcyclellc.com. $27 a pair I think.
Kregerdoodle Posted February 1, 2008 #4 Posted February 1, 2008 I`m about to pick up a pr. of RK slip=ons , does any one have a pick of these clamps and where do they go?? I thought all I needed was the bracket..
shooter3001 Posted February 1, 2008 #5 Posted February 1, 2008 You can go here for a picture of the clamp but they sell them not as a set. http://www.chopperscycle.com
2WHEELSFORME Posted February 1, 2008 #6 Posted February 1, 2008 You can use the existing clamps if you use this method for installation: http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=195
2WHEELSFORME Posted February 1, 2008 #7 Posted February 1, 2008 If you look at the library for 2nd gen installing RK muffs you will find it.
Pilot Posted February 1, 2008 #8 Posted February 1, 2008 I`m about to pick up a pr. of RK slip=ons , does any one have a pick of these clamps and where do they go?? I thought all I needed was the bracket.. The clamps attaches the muffler to the exhaust pipe, the bracket attaches the muffler to the frame of the bike and uses the existing muffler mounting hole. See this post for pictures of the bracket: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12638&highlight=road+king+bracket In place of the bracket you can also use a P-Clamp.
ragamuffin Posted February 1, 2008 #9 Posted February 1, 2008 When I ordered from V-Twin they sent me two sets, so I have an extra- if you want them they are yours. tj
eagleeye Posted February 1, 2008 #10 Posted February 1, 2008 Just go over to the Harley shop and buy a pair of RK clamps. That is what I did on my 05 RSTD, when I put the RK mufflers on. Steve

AmnChode Posted February 4, 2008 Author #12 Posted February 4, 2008 Sorry for the late reply to my own request...RL got a little busy the past few days... You can use the existing clamps if you use this method for installation: http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=195 When I first considered using RK muffs, this crossed my mind. But if I have my way, I would rather keep the stocks muffs exactly that...stock. When I saw these clamps, they looked clean and would allow me to not modify the stock muffs. Just go over to the Harley shop and buy a pair of RK clamps. That is what I did on my 05 RSTD, when I put the RK mufflers on. Steve Will they provide the same clean look? It was my understanding that they wouldn't, which is why I was going after the V-Twins...Did you do any other mods to them, other than the mounts themselves? I ask because I should be able to get the stock clamps for them, as well. When I ordered from V-Twin they sent me two sets, so I have an extra- if you want them they are yours. tj Thanx for the offer, wish I would of replied in time to get them...
