dacheedah Posted December 30, 2012 #26 Posted December 30, 2012 This happens every time there is a threat of some unreasonable gun ban and it usually goes away. In the last few years though Ammo has started becoming a more difficult resource to get. Time to think about going back to reloading. . . .
KICKSHOT Posted December 30, 2012 #27 Posted December 30, 2012 Yes I do carry an extra magazine. The classes you speak of are a great ideal for any body that owns a gun. No magazines to be had around here either. Last time I went to Academy they had the lastest shipment of ammo dumped on the floor and people were going thru it like crazy. So I just got me some more 12 gauge 3 inch 00 buckshot for my riot gun. kickshot

SapperMedic Posted December 30, 2012 #29 Posted December 30, 2012 I agree whole heartedly about the need to protect yourself, and I agree that showing the weapon can escalate the situation, but at our classes they showed that a man with a knife can get to you from 15 feet away before you can pull your weapon if it is in a shoulder or belt holster behind your back. So the suggestion about having a side pocket is a good one. I remember when I got back from Iraq and Afghanistan that I carried my side arm tucked in behind my belt covered by my shirt for about six months, just because I was a little paranoid. My weapons instructor helped me to get over that, but I still have trouble driving in the right lane of the freeway. Concrete barriers make me nervous due to the IEDs. I do remember that a displayed legal handgun calmed a Black Friday incident down. The man was punched in the face and was about to get beat on, when he displayed (but did not aim) his concealed weapon. The other guy ran away and the man put his pistol away and waited for the police.

PHYSICAL FORCE vs. DEADLY PHYSICAL FORCE....You mean the armed man was going to use deadly physical force against physical force....This is why legally armed people end up in prison... YOU DON'T want to become the AGRESSOR......locked up many people who thought they knew the law....YOU can use all the legal terms you want.... 'I was in fear for my life"......................The DISTRICT ATTORNEY who will be prosecuting YOU know even more terms...and the law better than you...!!!! carrying a firearm is a big responsibility.....dont take it lightly...I AM DONE WITH THIS THREAD !!!!! I BELIEVE PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS, HOWEVER I DO BELIEVE SOME PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO DO SO....nor do they learn the laws reguarding carrying a firearm in their state...AGAIN I AM DONE WITH THIS....
