smoothness of rstd or rsv to a vtx 1800

Hi All

 

Has anyone compared the smoothness in ride of the RSV or the RSTD to a VTX 1800, If some can you describe the two bikes in ride smoothness.

They are all 3 very fine machines, if I'm not mistaken the VTX doesn't have an air suspension on it. The RSV is a good deal heavier than the other 2 with all the fairings and such on it. The Vtwin on the VTX is smooth, but not smoother than the V4 in the Yamahas.

 

Depending on what you want to do with the machine, will dictate which one you want. The VTX would be great for around town and small trips. The V twin is very torquey and has good power. It's also more low slung in the gravity so a bit easier to toss around.

 

For longer trips or 2 up, the RSV hands down for comfort, the RSTD is also a good one for long trips. I know several folks here on this site that have taken theirs all over the country without a hickup....

I rode my RSTD all over without any problems, but at about 13,000 mi. It developed a buzzy vibration in the handlebars that bugged me to death. I ended up selling it and going to a HD. This Ultra is a Cadillac.
