I gave the old snowblower a new plug, oil change, and a shot of seafoam this morning. Started right up on the first pull!! Took me a couple of hours to clear the driveway, the snow was up to the bottom of the car doors...

I can understand working in the snow. As a former bus driver and OTR driver, snow stinks. Ice is the worst. However, I am in the mountains ( I think) in pikeville, TN, where there was some snow but bitter cold w winds. I kinda miss that. Living in Florida is great for riding, but I like the cold and change of topography from time to time. I head back to the gunshine state on the 31st and willbe riding ASAP.

Just so you all know where to put the blame on this one........ right square on Squidely's shoulders,,,, it came to us, free gratis from Texas. It was sent out as water, but then in the course of time changed to SNOW, just to satisfy those living in REAL country.

Thanks Squid, made some money the last couple of days,,,,, got any more,,, don't be shy and don't let the words from that big woos bother you,,, he might look mighty on the outside,, but on the inside he's nothing but a big......pussie cat.

Carl,

Your more than welcome my friend, I tried really hard for it to be in the liquid form when it got to you, but unfortunately someone in Canada, I dont know who, decided they wanted to add frigid air with it. By gumshoe that same person is trying to get that cold Canadian air down here to Texas! why the nerve of that guy :buttkick:

I was rootin for you my friend, knowin how Christmas just seems to be a bit different than in Michigan, so I tried hard, but sorry to missed the mark. And don't worry none about the cold, we have some to spare at this point. Actually, cold as being defined, is a lack of heat, so it comes back on your shoulders for not sending the heat up here for our big woos, but don't worry too much about him, he'll get used to it before he becomes a girl.

Well we both now that cold falls and heat rises, problem is your on the ground. More than likely some of that warm air I sent up for y'all is above your heads where you can't get at it

Actually, this is a diabolical trick against Tommy. You see, if I fire him up enough, maybe even mad enough to come and want to sock me in the nose, he and Vicky will make it to Texas. Then you see it will be nice and warm and still have green on the trees, he'll forget all about the sock in the nose and we'll have a nice visit....problem solved

:thumbsup2:

The doors always open, you know that, if you want to stay for 3 months, you can do that too. I think y'all need a break, Lilly can come along too. If she's still in the chew phase, I have some trees down in the yard to keep her busy indefinitely

I drive over the road, dedicated run of 2 days, twice a week.

This is how winter has gone for me so far.

Garden tractor tire chains have disappeared. :bang head: Which doesn't so much matter because it started to snow as I was leaving on one trip.

Arrive home to a mess of a driveway, new chains not in yet.

Due to holiday no day off between runs. Still snowing. Back out the next morning.

Plow guy never showed up while I was gone.

Back again Friday night. The driveway clearing fairies did not show. :confused24:

Tire chains now on back order. Driveway continues to fill. To big to shovel.

When I put the house in my Mom asked if I wanted to put the house so far off the road. I laughed.

Tonight I pick up a set of 4 wheeler chains I will have to cut down to fit my John Deer.

If all goes well I should be caught up and cleaned out in about 6 hours tomorrow.

If all goes well.

We haven't gotten pounded like this in a long time. I was unprepared.

I HATE WINTER.

The little town at the end of this, Carthage, is the nearest village to me. It is the post office of my mailing address.

The Tug Hill region is renowned for its excessive snowfall. One interesting architectural feature related to this phenomenon can be found locally in some hunting camps: supplemental, second-floor entry doors. These are located directly above the ground-level front door, and such apertures are used when so much snow has accumulated that the ground-level door can not be accessed. Snow depths commonly reach five feet (one and a half meters) or more, on the level, and vastly deeper amounts are routine. The location of the region in relation to Lake Ontario often creates ideal conditions for lake effect snow. The Tug Hill town of Montague, in Lewis County owns the single day New York State record of snowfall with 77 inches (6 feet, 5 inches) (almost 2 meters). Another Tug Hill location, Hooker (a hamlet in the town of Montague) holds the state record for annual snowfall. Hooker also received an extraordinary accumulation of snow in the winter of 1976-1977, with a total accumulation of 466.9 inches – approximately 39 feet (almost 12 meters).

On February 10, 2007 the National Weather Service reported that the Town of Parish had received 100 inches (more than 2.5 meters) of snow over a seven day span, while the village of Redfield received 141 inches (more than 3.5 meters) of snow over a ten day span of February 3-February 12, 2007. In 1977 a huge blizzard struck the Tug Hill Plateau and dumped 97 inches in the small village of Carthage.

The 77 inch snowfall was the official record. Some areas actually got just about 100" in 24 hours during that storm. Some buddies went to camp after work that day to ride sleds (snowmobiles). When they got up in the morning, no riding. Sleds were under the snow. Snow to deep to ride. They had to go out a second story window to get outside.

As previously mentioned. I HATE SNOW. :bang head::bang head::bang head:

I just came in from doing my drive also. The old John Deere just keeps on chugging along. This was only the second time I've plowed mine since this snow started but I should have done it sooner this time. It was starting to get a little deep. It also seems to be a wetter/heavier snow than we got the other day. Oh well....spring is right around the corner. :)
