Black Owl Posted December 21, 2012 #1 Posted December 21, 2012 All this talk about a depressed economy and yet folks are lined up two deep outside the Foot Locker store at the Sprawl of America just to get a raffle ticket to be allowed to spend $1,800.00 for a pair of Nike sneakers????????? :bang head:
Marcarl Posted December 21, 2012 #3 Posted December 21, 2012 Got to put your faith and future in something,,, why not Nike?
meach Posted December 21, 2012 #4 Posted December 21, 2012 buying/selling/trading these sneakers are evidently a big thing with some folks, may have cost a 14 yr old his life unfortunately. Not sure I would have ever thought sneakers would be worth $2000 when probably cost a few $ to make. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/cops-explore-shoe-game-motive-teens-death/nTcM7/

BigLenny Posted December 21, 2012 #6 Posted December 21, 2012 Have you driven by a casino lately? It's hard to believe we're in a GREAT DEPRESSION while looking at casino parking lots that are so full you can't find a place to park.
XV1100SE Posted December 21, 2012 #7 Posted December 21, 2012 Got to put your faith and future in something,,, why not Nike? And since people were worried about the end of days.... they want something on their feet they can run fast in !
midnightventure Posted December 21, 2012 #8 Posted December 21, 2012 I wear Nikes to play basketball. I have also read a pretty big book on how they got started. That part is pretty neat really but they were one of the first manufacturers to go to Asia for manufacture. The company that they taught how to manufacture their shoes is now one of their biggest competitors. I try to buy my shoes on clearance at one of their outlet stores. With my size 13 4E feet I am usually successful. I bet they don't have 20 dollars in every 140 dollar pair they sell.
