You Canadians are lucky. Here the price today is US$ 7.41 US gallon.

Welcome to ICELAND !

Yeah, but how far can you ride in Iceland this time of year? :rotf: :rotf:

Let's see ... on Wednesday, around here, it was $1.15 / L. ($4.35 / US Gal.) then yesterday, it went to $1.24 / L. ($4.69 / US Gal.) and today it was at $1.19 / L. ($4.50 / US Gal.). Can hardly wait to see what it will cost tomorrow!

Well, yesterday 23rd. of Dec.I took my bike out for a ride after rejetting the carbs to see how everything was working. 50 mile ride with dry roads and temperature of 41° Fahrenheit. Never could figure out why the guy who found this island called it Iceland :confused24:? Most likely was not much of a businessman - On the other hand the guy who discovered Greenland :cold: and gave it a name was a business man for sure.

Riding season in Iceland is roughly from April throughout October with some days in the off season months.

Whats the riding season in Ontario Andy ? :rasberry: :hihi: :stirthepot: :hihi: :stickpoke: :hihi:

Ah! Never noticed that you are on the "opposite" side of the weather from us! On an average year here in Southern Ontario (Winters have been unseasonably warm the last two years) the riding season can run from mid-March to the beginning of December. The problem often isn't so much the snow and cold as the salt, sand and brine juice the municipalities apply at the first hint of potential icing. That stuff can be quite slippery itself and the salt and especially the brine juice can play havoc with metal parts. Cleaning it off properly is extremely difficult so it's usually time to store the bike at the first sign of any of this stuff on the roads. Over the last two years, the temps and weather have been such that I was able to ride into January and then start up again at the beginning of March. OK government experts - tell me again that global warming is just a myth!

You guys are LUCKY !!!! This morning in Ontario Canada price is $1.21 / litre - works out to $4.58/US gal !

Price here in Oz can be anywhere between $1.40 and $1.50 per litre.

One US Gallons = 4.54609 litres x (say) $AU1.45 = $AU6.59

Now, the Aussie $ is worth $US1.05, so $AU6.59 x 1.05 - $US6.9195.

That makes $3 a gallon look mighty fine and dandy!

Go figure!

We actually have the same salt/sand being spread over the roads here in Iceland. But when they use it it is always after the snow starts pouring or the roads are getting very icy so one would not ride the scoot anyways.

You have a long riding season there Andy - much longer than ours - Got me there for sure :)

Ride safe

Gas did the HUGE jump here Christmas day. We had relatives come over for dinner. Gas was $3.11-3.14 a gal @ say 11 am. When they left around 5-530 my brother in law called on the way out of town and said gas had went up to $3.26 gal. How in the heck could it go up on a day when the distributership is closed? I think they saw an opertunity to rip people off if they needed fuel late in the day. Bad thing is it aint went back down. Guess they figure if we are going to drive off the fiscal cliff they are going to try to slow us down some.
