playboy Posted December 19, 2012 #3 Posted December 19, 2012 If you do get new ones I would be interested in the passenger boards for a project but they have to be cheap cheap because the project may ruin them for life.
Wrench Posted December 19, 2012 #4 Posted December 19, 2012 The Star Accy's billet f'boards are sweeet, but they ARE pricey, $279 front, $239 rear. I'm probably just going to polish out mine this winter, along with the fork legs. I did that to my old Roadie and it all turned out pretty good, just a LOT of elbow grease. Santa's supposed to be bringing me a new jack, so that'll make it much easier to do the fork. Has anybody thought about, or attempted to polish out the wheels? That's been on my mind when it comes time for tires, but I'm thinking that may be a job for somebody else.
BigLenny Posted December 19, 2012 #5 Posted December 19, 2012 I bought both the front and rear Star billet floor boards a couple years ago for my RSTD, and they make the bike look a lot better. I picked both sets up online for a total of $200.00. I recommend them.
lonewolf96 Posted December 19, 2012 #6 Posted December 19, 2012 I'll 2nd the Billet Star boards. I picked up a set on e-bay, brand new for $185. Be careful with what you are buying. There is an old design where the rubber inserts are just glued on and the newer style that has a rubber pad underneth that protrudes through. I saw a guy on there selling a set of the old design pretty cheap a few months back. If you see a picture of them, on the older style the rubber is straight the new style the rubber is curved. The picture below is of the set I put on my '08 RSTD.
Wrench Posted December 20, 2012 #7 Posted December 20, 2012 They do look good, especially on a Midnight with all that other chrome. I had a lot of problems with the passenger board rubber strips coming loose too, and the chrome had started peeling between the strips.
