MiCarl Posted December 16, 2012 #2 Posted December 16, 2012 Yamaha made more than one model of 750 in 1981. Help us help you by including the model.....
adventurer 08 Posted December 17, 2012 #3 Posted December 17, 2012 I wanted to change the headlight on my 82 yamaha 750 maxim to a round one till i looked in the headlight bucket and seen about a hundred wires in there, so i still have my big square lite.
rbig1 Posted December 17, 2012 Author #4 Posted December 17, 2012 mine is a verago 750 1981. forgot about model type. it has a round lite. should have taken pics and labeled splices.
MiCarl Posted December 17, 2012 #5 Posted December 17, 2012 Not much help to you. The only one I have is B/W in a Clymer manual and I suspect that is what you have. The good news is Yamaha seldom changes wire colors at a connector. With the possible exception of the turn signals your colors should match up. My best advice is to grab the large, multi-wire, connectors and start matching up. Then go to the bullet connectors. It'll be a time consuming process. Be sure and look at the wires carefully, it's really easy to miss a stripe.
BradT Posted December 18, 2012 #6 Posted December 18, 2012 Have a electronic manual fpr a 1100 Virago that is about 17 megs. About 9 pages on cable routing. Would be glad to email it but too large for my works server. Maybe able to send it through a different source or via CD if it helps. Your postal service is not too fast so that may take a while Brad
rbig1 Posted December 19, 2012 Author #7 Posted December 19, 2012 thanks but i have a green manual. which is a copy of factory manual . diagrams leave a lot to be desired. was hoping some one had a pic of wiring, at location of bucket. [ ie shop and compare.] the single connectors are the ones in question.
BradT Posted December 20, 2012 #8 Posted December 20, 2012 Can't help never needed to take any pictures and sold the bike. Good luck Brad
