These bikes aren't rocket science. go to wally world and give 3-4 dollars. Any over 5 is a waste. And at these prices if you don't already have one, get two. I've got a $400 fluke and a $3 Harbot Freight. Can't tell a licks worth of difference for home or auto shop use.

I agree, on a bike and a car you do not need to spend much I have a $15 dollar craftsman I carry on the bike. Now if you are talking electronics thats a diffrent story.

I picked up a multi-meter at Harbor Freight ($30) that also does rpm thru induction. Best way to go so you have voltage/amperage/rpm in one box. Worth the trip to the U.S. or order online.

if they take a 9volt dont buy. 2 aa battery type are safer most computers in car use 5volt for sensors so if you do something wrong you wont overpower the function as bad.

Hi;

multiimeters are cheap so I recommend getting these basic features:

  • digital display
  • auto ranging capable
  • resettable fuse/breaker
  • auto off
  • shock protectors on corners (you will drop it)

I always shop Amazon first for just about everything.

$28.51 including shipping - good basic overall household meter for everything.

I'm a technologist since 1969 till present.

I have a Harbor Freight crap meter (broken of course after two weeks) - old 40 year old fluke (part of display is clouded gray) - two ancient Tektronix 465 Oscilloscopes

Even with all that crap, if I didn't have the extra cost of fixing my Trike's front end, I'd buy that meter today. As it is, Ill add it to my "Save for latter" Amazon list.

would be ok for low voltage use (auto), but as an electrician i wont recommend one if you where going to use it regularly for higher voltage(home), digital is also recommended
