Midrsv Posted December 13, 2012 Author #26 Posted December 13, 2012 I check out of the hospital tomorrow after two therapy sessions. On Friday the dailey home health therapy sessions start. They seemed to think all of my therapy would be done at home. I would think after the first week or so I should be able to go to an outpatient center and receive better therapy than I would at home. Got to talk to the Doc about that in the morning. Dennis
oldgoat Posted December 13, 2012 #27 Posted December 13, 2012 your doing good i had my left knee done in august this year. i went from the hospitial to a rehab center due to me having MS as well. i pushed my PT just as much as he pushed me. right now i can fully extend it. and im at 115 bending. i dont have that night time pain i had with the old knee. i do have some stiffness if i sit to long then get up. i use 8lb weight on the ankle. for liffting. thats a lot of weight for a new knee but due to my MS i had a very weak quad muscles. now i can walk the mall with my great niece and walk the old railroad tracks with her. so you keep working that knee you be surprised on how you will feel latter on.
Midrsv Posted December 14, 2012 Author #28 Posted December 14, 2012 I came home from the hospital yesterday and they gave one of the cpm machines to work my leg. I've got to use it 4 hrs per day. I used it two hrs last night and worked up to 95 degrees. Home therapists were here this morning and I'm "relaxing" on the machine right now. I'm going to dial it up to 100 degrees for the last few strokes. I think I'm doing pretty well for 3 days post op. Dennis
cecdoo Posted December 14, 2012 #29 Posted December 14, 2012 Way to Go! Keep up the hard work, hopefully you will be better then new soon. Craig
Squidley Posted December 15, 2012 #30 Posted December 15, 2012 Keep up the good work Dennis, I know it has to suck, but push your way through it. Had a guy at work get his replaced, he tripped on one of the steps one day and went down on his knee, not directly, but stretched all that scar tissue out. He said his eyes rolled in his head it hurt so bad, and he thought he ruined all the work. Come to find out within about 2 hours he had some pain, but a lot more range of motion....good luck with it all bud
Eck Posted December 15, 2012 #31 Posted December 15, 2012 Sounds like your on top of it my friend. I look forward to hearing that you had a full recovery and are able to run and leap tall buildings ............and that you are able to ride again..
