Sgt. Maj. Posted December 5, 2012 #1 Posted December 5, 2012 The new replacement shock has a half inch vent tube on it. The old one didn't . So is there a place to route this vent tube ? It's about 10" long. I,'ve tried to include a picture so look at the whole post
XV1100SE Posted December 5, 2012 #2 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) The shock was updated with the vent. believe it routes down the right side. Edited December 6, 2012 by XV1100SE
playboy Posted December 5, 2012 #3 Posted December 5, 2012 That vent line will go up the right side of the shock and up beside the battery box where the turn down should stop mine has a clip but a zip tye would work. http://http://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=73023&stc=1&d=1354747394 right side sitting on bike

playboy Posted December 6, 2012 #5 Posted December 6, 2012 Exactly right but it was the only pic I could find as it was I was removing mine at the time.

So that is what that silly vent tube is next to the battery case that got in the way when I was adding the Dynatek TDI. Glad I left it alone & just wrestled with it during the TDI replacement. Thanks for the exact info... JohnB
Sgt. Maj. Posted December 6, 2012 Author #9 Posted December 6, 2012 Thanks for the quick response. :-)
playboy Posted December 7, 2012 #10 Posted December 7, 2012 I noticed from your other thread that you were doing a make over on your bike. Have you ever checked your swing arm bearings if you have the shock out and rear tire off it would be a great time to do it.
Sgt. Maj. Posted December 7, 2012 Author #11 Posted December 7, 2012 Squiggly has been helping me because I've done nothing to this bike except gas, oil, turn the key and ride. Oh and tires. I'll mention that to Squiggly so we can check this out. Thanks for thinking about that. It has been a great machine. We sorta have a bond the Girl and I.
Sgt. Maj. Posted December 8, 2012 Author #12 Posted December 8, 2012 With the shock came a couple of hose clips and this seal. White in color not sure where it goes . I've included a photo hope it helps to I'D this seal placement. There was no info in the box.
