It would have cost them a lot more if one of them had been shot or killed during the robbery..........a lawsuit by the family could break the bank.:mo money::mo money:

They shouldve given the guy a 10,000 dollar bonus. Then according to their policy let the guy go......for about a month. Then rehire him at a higher wage than before. Treat it like a well paid vacation. Dont know if that would get them around the legalities, and reward the guy like he shouldve been in the first place.

I guess I should clarify.......Its a crock that they had to do this to the guy. But if you have to get around the lawsuits, maybe this would be a good way.

Well unless GROSS negligence is proven on the part of the employer, state’s workers’ compensation law provides benefits to employees who are injured in accidents arising out of and in the course of employment.

An injury or death of an employee during a robbery is usually considered an accident, but shooting an armed robber is actionable!

There's actually a case in Georgia about this. The question at the center of that case is: Was the employee on a break or off the clock when killed?

You have to love our legal system.

I was traveling through Virginia this past summer. I was going down a road and I saw dust that was so thick you could barely see. It cleared a little and I saw a wooden fence with people sitting on top of the fence so thought, all right, they're having a rodeo but when I got closer I saw that they were trying to put shoes on a 16 year old boy.
